Can't get WolfenDoom to work

Can't get WolfenDoom to work

I'm using ZDoom, which is why I'm posting this here.

The funny thing is I can get Nocturnal Missions and Spear of Destiny to work fine, but the regular WolfenDoom original wad doesn't want to run.

I keep getting the error:

ZDoom Fatal Error
R_InstallSprite: Sprite PLAY frame G is missing rotations

In the ZDoom Startup Viewer, everything loads successfully until I get to some textures.

It starts with "Invalid data encountered for texture TFOGA0"
and has the same problem for about 25 other textures.

I have no idea what to do. I know theres some other Wolfenstein clones out there, and I think I read theres one that is optimized for ZDoom, but I kind of just want to get WolfenDoom to run, because (and I may be mistaken) it sounds like the other clones require a bunch of steps to run, whereas the WolfenDoom wads can just be ran as regular pwads.

I have same difference Problems with WOLFEN

I can't run with r2wolf11 I think it called Return to Wolfenstein anyway need to work with original DOOM.WAD not one with Ulitmate Doom.WAD not sure need which version DOOM 1.666 or to DOOM 1.9

I really come close to work...but many textures are missing because need DOOM.WAD and Dmadds.exe ( Make-it.bat ) readt txt there...I have many collect CD of ULTIMATE DOOM.WAD but noone find older version.

WolfenDOOM need update though :( these WAD way way way too OLD :( I give up only last week :)

Simple solution: Dont use Wolfendoom.

Use AFADoomer's wolfenstein tc, it is much more functional and truer to the original.

It's on a thread on this forum, updated recently.

EDIT: And the best part is, it has ALL THE RESOURCES YOU NEED! Use the wad file that comes with it as an IWAD, and load all other files after it. Works in zdoom and gzdoom.

Bleh, I just tried the Wolf3D TC that you mentioned, and I can't seem to get that to run either. I followed the installation directions to a T but I keep getting ZDOOM Fatal Error:

Script error, "MAPINFO" line #:
Bad syntax.

where the line number seems to be a different number every time.

Get the latest ZDoom SVN version, It's MUCH BETTER THAN 2.1.7! Find a link to it from the frontpage of the ZDoom wiki.

i got wolfendoom to work but the wall and door and outside texture won't show i don't know how to fix the problem if some one can give me all wofendoom texture it could help. only the monsters, sprites ,floor and ceiling shows but not the wall or doors or the outside. :) if someone can give me a copy of all laz's wolfenstien games that work for zdoom that would be helpful :D

Thats a weird error,I've got all of Laz's wolfendoom projects and they all worked fine with me.I got the same error with Afadoomers SOD TC.I opened it up in slumped to investigate it and ended up fixing it but then it started saying that it was missing the sprite rotations for "Rocket"(Can't remember the specifics)

WolfenDooM seems to work perfectly with Risen 3D, at least for me anyway.

EDIT: AFADoomer's wolfenstein tc looks pretty cool! I'm going to try it out right now!
EDIT2: AFADoomer's work is AWESOME! If you like Wolfenstein, give this a try! Now, if only someone were crazy enough to convert the Catacomb trilogy. I'm probably crazy for even just mentioning that. :lol:

Delete the other G-frame sprites for the player. It'll run then.

If I decided to go that way, I'd have played original Wolfenstein (or mods) instead. Too bad that except enemies' threat, it's very little unlike Doom.

i think dosbox and vanilla doom would run wolfendoom just fine. and afair it isn't interchangeable with wolfenstein TC, new levels and stuff.
