Question about DEH/BEX:

Post by Malphas »

Anybody recall whatever happened to the more unique and exotic DEH and BEX that were once included in ZDoom? I'm talking about the ones that gave you a triple beam railgun, ridiculously fast fire rates, 999 ammo, etc. I seriously miss having them in ZDoom. Anybody knows where I can get those DEH/BEH files?

Since I had to reformat my hard drive due to a recent virus attack, I seriously regret not having the foresight to back up that part of my collection. All my über-cool megawads are gone as well. :(

Thanks in advance to anyone who can rent me a decent clue, here...

I don't think anything more than the single railgun BEX ever came packaged with ZDoom (1.22). If you look at the patch, you'll see the codepointer "FireRailgun." To fire the railgun from the left or right, the codepointers are "FireRailgunLeft" and "FireRailgunRight." I could be wrong, but they're something like that.

railgun.bex came with zdoom 1.22
but i have them all

railgun.bex
triiplerialgun.bex
railgunfast.bex

i also made my own deh files that give you 9999999999 ammo and health and armor and your weapons shoot super fast and are really strong
and the monsters are really weak and there projectials are slow

i also have tons of megawads, if wish, just gimma a list and ill upload them somewhere. i have rare ones too like the heroes wads, cobra wads and some slige wads. the only wads i have are megawads
even for heretic!! and a few for doom1

Sparky, you are the man! :D

If I recall, I think it was trirailgun.bex (the one with 3 simultaneous beams). I'm interested in that "fast railgun" BEX file, as well -- the sadist in me beckons. I'm also missing the Memento Mori megawads. I've tried finding them via conventional means, but the FTP link at cdrom.com no longer seems to have them archived. Both of those were among my all time favorite megawads for Doom.

Most of all my other primo megawads have been found online... again. :P

I greatly appreciate the helping hand!

cdrom is dead, all the files from there have been moved to a new archive
ftp://3darchives.in-span.net
and the momento mori wads are there still
heres the links
ftp://3darchives.in-span.net/pub/idgame ... _allup.zip
ftp://3darchives.in-span.net/pub/idgame ... mm/mm2.zip

and for the bex files
the link is:
http://sparky.suhost.com/bex.zip

and if you want, heres a small wad i put together that adds a whole bunch of extra zdoom featurers into all wads (splash3.wad and Doom-S.wad combo)
http://sparky.suhost.com/extra.zip

have fun :)

For the ultimate challenge, not only should you increase the player sweapons but make the monster super fast and all that! Or, just give the player a super pistol and have really fast and hard monsters!

That's a challege  Mmm, that reminds me, I still have to make my super cool fast arcade action Chaos Engine Doom mod! I loved that game, and I've even made Node graphics :-). But, WFROTGS2 first :-D.
