Wow, this really helps me out a lot, I was originally going to use the King Pin locker textures since those were some of the best I've seen, but this is more fitting you wouldn't happen to have a "side" texture to go with it would you???

Oh yes, very nice. I'm sure I could make use of these too.

I like that clean door! You should clean up the other doors too.

Re: Custom Texture Thread.
I'd probably just need to hue-change the colored ones, but first i'd need to do the exact same thing to one colored door, and i'm too lazy to do that.Nash wrote:I like that clean door! You should clean up the other doors too.

Re: Custom Texture Thread.
Here are some earthly rocks. I made them using simple GIMP work, from vanilla Doom textures.
Also these. Minimal GIMP work, but I'm pleased enough:

The faces on wood looks creepy. Make them fade in and out in a map and some players will pass out.

Re: Custom Texture Thread.
Seeing as how this has turned into a bit of a show and tell thread, the link will take you to a zip file (231KB) with a small handful of textures in it. Some of these were my attempt to make some of the textures from other games that are commonly used in Doom mods tie in a bit better with the Doom textures. Others were just to fill a need that I had when I made them.
The BMP folder contains textures that are in the Doom palette.
The png folder has 3 textures that are not quite in the Doom palette (they convert to the Doom palette OK but work slightly better with their own colours).
The switches folder contains a bunch of switches that I have posted before. Most of them were attempts to make switches from other games (Doom64, Strife, Duke3D) match the Doom switches in style.
Samples? Sure:
http://files.drdteam.org/index.php/file ... tures1.zip
I *think* everything in there was done by me. If not, I apologise. Just let me know. I don't want to claim authorship anything that isn't mine.
Oh yes, and those wood faces look superb printz.
[edit]
Oh yes, I forgot to include these in the above zip. The first few are in the Doom palette.
Rusty metal door key markers plus white/off white variations:
Textured shiny (Shawn) floor plate (to compliment the dark metal and rusty ones in the zip):
Pipes from Strife (I think) with a Shawn2 background:
Finally, this is not quite in the Doom palette (but looks reasonable when forced into it) welded metal plate (from Strife?) changed to match the Doom rusty metal colours a bit more closely:

Re: Custom Texture Thread.
Oh oops, I had forgot that the wooden textures I've posted look like this before being imported into software Doom. But even palette-raped, I deemed them acceptable when I imported them into the wad.

Thanks to Gothic's switch blank, here's some key switches to go with those floppy disk keycards I keep seeing around.

Except I didn't make those. I made the USB thumbdrive keycards because I was starting to get sick of the floppy disk cards.wildweasel wrote:TDA's floppy disk keycards.
