I'm loving the way this project is looking, essel. I can't wait to play it on my PSP :)

I forget; can PSP Doom handle dehacked patches?

Yes. I've played Batman Doom on my 3.71M33-4 fat PSP, and it works perfectly. I see no reason why anything else wouldn't run :P

Awesome. My PSP hasn't gotten much use recently, so I didn't remember if PSP Doom supported patches or not. Very cool. It'll be interesting to see what's the lowest-spec machine this wad will be able to run at a decent framerate on.

How about KDIKDIZD on the Dreamcast, PSX, Gameboy Advance, DS, Ipod, N64, Jaguar, 3DO, SNES, 32X, XBOX 1, or 360? :P

I think the real question here is not "Is KDiKDiZD capable of running on ____", but "Is ____ capable of handling the extreme amounts of awesome contained within KDiKDiZD?" ;)

Actually Sodahollic, it will be very nice when I play KDiKDiZD on a ~60-inch widescreen with the awesome Dreamcast controller. I haven't fired up nxDoom for a while, but it *is* Boom compatible and can parse DeHackEd too ;)

BTW, I recommend light flares being put in via dithering.

I was thinking of photoshopping glows into some of the light textures, but I dunno if I feel like it or not. :p

When I first read this thread, I thought this was all some kind of pissery aimed at KDIZD but I guess with Belial in the team, you guys are serious in pulling this off.

What I would have preferred to see from such a team though is an original map pack project.

I mean... more episode 1 remakes? I'm getting sick of them.

(yes esse I removed you from my ban list lololol i'm an emo)

When I originally had the idea for it a few months ago it was much less serious than it is now, but it wasn't enjoyable to work on so I dropped it after a few hours of tediously removing sectors from z1m1 and getting subpar results. This is a serious reinterpretation, though, making some changes where we see fit (primarily for compatibility, but not always) and attempting to make it as impressive as we possibly can. That doesn't mean there won't be some fun easter eggs though. :p

Well...we do have some other cool things in the pipeline. Hellbent, the creator of the simple-but-fun deathmatch megawad Greenwar asked the 32in24 team to detail 32 maps for Greenwar 2, so we've been working on that since around Thanksgiving (progress has been very slow for the past month or so...lots of people with claimed maps but no progress whom we're waiting on a reply from). It features some work by Vader as well.

There's also an Eternity Engine single-player map that I've got about 70% finished. I started on it for an untitled Doom II reinterpretation (inspired only by concepts and map names, it wasn't like a Doom2 KDiZD for Eternity or anything like that) megawad that I cancelled a while back due to lack of interest (both from me and from the other people working on it)...the map is currently titled The Abandoned Mines, as it was for map26, but it might end up with a different name when I finish and release it as a single map. I haven't worked on it in quite a while, but I've promised to finish and release it once SoM gets linked portals finished and into an officially-released Eternity build. The map's style is heavily inspired by Espi's Suspended in Dusk, but with more cavey stuff, some wood, and some brown/bronze* mixed in...actually it could probably benefit from some theme consolidation whenever I get back to working on it. Blah. I'll have to get some other peoples' advice on it I guess.

EDIT: And how can I forget spacedm5? :D

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: "from such a team"? Are we seriously that good?

At first I thought this was some sort of sick joke to the KDiZD team but then I read the thread. :P

Sounds interesting, wonder how it's gonna turn out in the end.

Speaking of hype,

Needless to say, I was very disappointed and will not be working with them again.

EDIT: Oh god it's taken on a mind of its own, it can't be controlled by any mortal force D:
