GZDoom is crashing immediately when using EVP 3.1e on Debian. Is this just a linux bug or has the update borked EVP on Windows as well?

I tried the windows version and it crashed immediately as well. Seems the GZDoom 4.14 update doesn't work with the current version of EVP. Here is the log.
