Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Just finished a remade sprite sheet of Brutal Doom's turret a few hours ago. The model is based off the remake of BD's turret that @TommyGalano5 made last year. This time, there were also few enough sprites for me to make a full actual sprite sheet.
Marine not included since I can only make sprites using model renders. Here are TG5's original sprites for comparison:
And of course, here are some renders of the turret, along with the fully cropped and offsetted turret sprites. And the Blender project file for the model itself.
Imgur album
This is probably the last model I'll make for now that is just a remake of something that already exists.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
decided to touch up Lucas Kord's FAL sprites, and whoopsie i made the pickup sprite 2x resolution
EDIT/UPDATE:
turns out mine was actually incorrect compared to an actual FAL so i decided to make it more accurate
(taking inspiration from the german Gewehr 1 variant of the FAL)

Man, those sprites are mesmerizing. I wish you made centered frames too!

Centered sprites will be considered and implemented in the sheets when i release the thread. I'm close to finish what i have to offer to individuals interested in real life weapon counterparts. I forgot about it in the process and you made me realize the most fundamental thing is out. Sad times.

Looking good, chrono!
Here are the weapon sprites i worked on. Wanted to upload them by the dozen but withering motivation and other tasks really got me. Credits to soidev from Sketchfab.com Credits to nickwilliams from Sketchfab.com
Not saying that i'm gonna quit spriting. Need more times to put myself together.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Kind of unfinished chaingun I made almost a year back, using a vented shroud variant, ala Doom 64. Credits in the filename.
Animated example here: https://i.imgur.com/eccQurf.gif.
Not that satisfied with the body of the gun, in fact it looks shit and uninspired, but I was also almost blind while making it.
Barrels look very nice though.
I think for Doom, what works best is a centered gun for idle and shooting, and then angled sprites can be used in a reload animation which shows the gun's details off.

You just considering it alone makes me happy.Lucas Kord wrote:Centered sprites will be considered and implemented in the sheets when i release the thread. I'm close to finish what i have to offer to individuals interested in real life weapon counterparts.

Great to see people digitizing real life for sprites, just like iD used to do.chronoteeth wrote:made a sprite out of my sar b6 combat

The echoes of a choir of men saying "MARATHON!" is said to be heard when lever-action shotguns and double-barrels are close to each other...
Or you know, WSTE-M5s. You can use this with DRLA if you want to.

...I guess this would count as Triple-Posting, but since today is the 13th and not the 12th... Eh, whatever. More Doom-Handed Marathon shitte, with a Double Fun-Pack featuring the Assault Rifle and the RPG!
