Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
As Enjay said. It's the same principle that applies to how to properly swing a medieval mace, axe, or anything of the like that has a heavy bulk in one of the extremes.
Regarding the sprite per se, the left hand seems like it's squishing a narrower handle than what it's seen.

That would be nice. Currently I'm having issues with consistent rendering of shading and perspective.neoworm wrote:Do you want me to render out the hammer head in the very same animation as the axe? It should be quick job, I still have all the source files.

I don't know if it's just me, but it almost looks like the end of the hammer where the head itself is is actually lower down than the rest of the handle, like it's drooping down...
would certainly sell the weight i suppose!

I am always glad when the sprite carnival can be educational.
the end part does appear to bend a bit, but given my experience earlier for all I know sledge hammers are indeed made like that. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
When I saw the sprite this morning on my phone, I did think it looked a bit "droopy" at the head end. It was less obvious on my PC monitor, so I forgot to mention it.

That sort of handle would not be out of place on a wood-chopping ax.

Here's my own spin on LossForWords' Beretta Sprite set, with some shading to give it a nicer look when holding the gun and a muzzle flash.
Credit goes to him and id Software btw! If you use it, you are free to do so.

I tried my hand at DrPyspy's rifle (using osjclatchford's version as a base) in the style of Brootal Doom: Black Edition's rifle. With some parts of DoomNukem's SMG and the aforementioned rifle itself.

A little experiment that uses the Strife acolyte armor parts on the rebel.

Oh god just thought about the moon filled with these fireblu minerals... But to be honest, fireblu kinda fits for a jewel type.osjclatchford wrote:ever wonder just what they were mining for on the martian moons:

bloody scary thought eh? ;D and yeah tbh this is inspired by the quake2 mines where they're mining the crystals. I figured a designer could make sector based crystals using the fireblu texture on them and then scatter some of the smaller ones around them to makethe effect more pronnounced within the 'world' of the map.Captain J wrote:Oh god just thought about the moon filled with these fireblu minerals... in truth I'm not 100% onthe biguns I've done, as, as I said, this could easily be done with sector based geometry, but the smaller ones and refinedone are ok...
here is a pedestal for the 'refined' one ala hexen:
based on the hexen one and work from zirrion.
the gold I felt matched the candelabra from doom pretty well and with the green marble and the doom2 style dead dude it all fits in as it should...
