I'm sorry to announce this, but sadly, the development of Yokai has been suspended due to the technical problem leading to lack of computer, making it clear the mod development is suspended.

Let's see whether I will assign the mod to someone else to have its development continued or completely cancel the development.

Thanks to everyone who kept their eyes on the developent and people who the credits go to.


Hi everyone, I would like to announce my monster pack I'm currently working on.

This is my first-ever monster pack I have started working on. This monster pack mainly includes the entities of Asian mythology. Unlike regular Doom monsters, Yokai monsters will challenge the player a bit.

I have taken the sprites from various sources, like Realm667 or such with the authors knowing.

Development started: 21.01.20

Briefly, let's get you to the introducing.


Beastiary:

Oni - 鬼

Japanese speaking red ghoul. fires ball once, two and three times in a row.


Hitotsume-kozo - 一つ目小僧

Good silent kid there, really a good sniper. Having midget and dark looks, has chances to take your health one by one with his darts without you knowing, especially in dark areas.


Ranger Jiangshi - 殭屍

Behaves like regular zombieman, only burst fires; if needs be.


Rifleman Jiangshi - 殭屍

Is a good sniper there too, don't underestimate him.


SMG Jiangshi - 殭屍

Non-stop spreads fire, avoid him sometimes.


Machinegunner Jiangshi - 殭屍

Less a threat than SMG Jiangshi. Triple shots a row.


Gasha-dokuro - 餓者髑髏

Skeleton that noises tinnitus when sees you (I'll upload a patch of him for those who experience hearing problems when the mod is released.) Punches really good.


Donotsura - 胴面

His body appears much like that of a human’s, except that it is missing everything from the neck. Its extremely large facial features are prominently displayed on its torso. Is like regular Pinky Demon, not much a threat.


Shiryo - 死霊

Floating ghoul that jumps to you, or throw balls at you.


Enenra - 煙羅煙羅

Living dark smoke. Really a health magnet, avoid him and his surrounding.


Hone-Onna - 骨女

Skeleton woman that is very challenging, randomly teleports and bombards you. Can f**k your life hard up without having a penis. Killing her is awarded with +100 health by %50 chance.


Ushirogami - 後神

Cyclops floating creature that behaves like regular Cacodemon, only has tentacles. Faster projectile.


Samurai - 侍

Non-Yokai enemy. This here dude is really fast, agile and throws shurikens. most of your deaths may be cause of him.

Also he has a twin that goes invinsible when attacked.


Jigoku no Danshaku - 地獄の男爵

Fires seeking fireballs and releases somewhat lethal gasses. Baron of Hell but on steroids.


Noppera-bo - のっぺらぼう

Faceless creature here, harmless yokai. What, you underestimate him already? Hah, don't make me laugh. I'll be the one laughing when it does its thing to you: Literally makes you startle from where you are sitting on. Jumpscaring entity so be careful. (Decorate and sprites are ripped from the mod "Lasting Light" as tribute to the mod. Did some adjustment on the monster, though.)


Otakemaru - 大嶽丸おおたけまる

This hellboy here is to challenge you. Boss variant. Throws acidic arrow as the same speed of blinking. Has a humongous sword so as to mince you really quick, so don't be near him. Killing him is rewarded with +100 health.


Japanese Imperial Soldier - 兵士

Rifle-wielding Japanese soldier. Behaves like rifleman jiangshi.


Hososhi - 方相氏

Fast projectile and effective Oni.

I think this might be the wrong forum for this post. If it's just going to be a monster replacer, those typically go in the gameplay forum. Total conversions are complete game changers (IE, making Doom into something else entirely).

That said, the monsters look bitchin. This might go well with Final Doomer + and the JP Community maps.

Well, if this won't feature any new weapons or levels it probably belongs in the gameplay mods category.

Like I said, as it is written "Other Projects" there, I found it would be okay to post it this category. But let's just wait for a moderator, they will decide whether to migrate the post or not

i am so dissapointed at doom reboot and even more dissapointed at shadow warrior reboot specially the firs game... why do creaters refrain from adding the original monsters and they always tend ot make zombie like monsters .... i dont frnk want new monsters... i wish doom and shadow wawrrior had gotten the same treatment as wolfenstein beause new wolfenstein games are true to source material
