+ROCKETTRAIL reccreation using A_SpawnParticle()

So, I would like to make some modifications on how rockets spawn the particles. But hopefully not, the particles are being handled by this single flag. Has anyone tried to recreate this effect using particles? How would I do that? All my tried are not even nearing the behaviour of the rocket particles created by this simple flag...
