Startup sounds not working

I'm having an issue where my startup music cuts out as soon as the image loads. Also the "tick" sound doesn't play at all. :?

I found that the startup music also cuts out in Hexen so I guess that it is just supposed to be that way.

Also, I had to define this in SNDINFO: StartupTick TICK

So I think that makes it </thread>
