Why can't I make an account for the wiki???

I can't make an account for the wiki as it just shows up with an error saying that the username I tried has been banned from creation, and it doesn't matter what username I put in.

I don't get why every username I try doesn't work, no matter what the actual name is.

One has to ask one of the admins that actively work on the Wiki to create it. I know Gez can. I am not sure if i can, however, despite being an active Wiki contributor.

It's because the Wiki software has no defenses against spambots, and those would very quickly vandalize the entire wiki if they were allowed in.
The error message here is somewhat of a problem, it should give an explanation of how to get an account made.

You can send him a private message, yes. Or ask one of the staff.

Same boat. As a fresh account, I am even unable to send private messages (to Gez) until I have participated in the forums a bunch.

You can send me a DM. Describe briefly what you want to do on the wiki (maintenance, new pages, etc.), and give me an email address, I'll make an account.

The weirdly worded warning on the wiki has beem amended and now should show relevant information. I'm also going to make a sticky later to avoid confusion.
