It usually says Execution could not continue.
Cannot find a game IWAD (doom.wad, doom2.wad, heretic.wad, etc.).
Did you install GZDoom properly? You can do either of the following:
1. Place one or more of these wads in the same directory as GZDoom.
2. Edit your gzdoom-username.ini and add the directories of your iwads
to the list beneath [IWADSearch.Directories]
however i drag doom.wad to open it but that's when this error shows up.
I believe its cuz i messed with the gzdoom.ini file attempting to load more than one mod at once (just downloaded this today) can anyone gimme a backup of gzdoom with a non fucked up .ini please?!
Im on windows 11 on a surface go with gzdoom-4-11-3.a.

If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.
We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

Re: gzdoom not recognizing doom2.wad
Delete the INI file entirely, and GZDoom will generate a new one that isn't broken.

Re: gzdoom not recognizing doom2.wad
That is probably where you got this error.
Spoiler:Do not drag the IWAD (DOOM.WAD, DOOM2.WAD, etc) unto GZDoom.exe, but copy/paste the IWAD into the GZDoom folder, and then open the Game with the IWAD. If you have more than one IWAD installed then you will see a menu where to select the game IWAD.
When you first run GZDoom a file named gzdoom.ini will be generated in your system. Use the console command
whereisini
to find the location of the ini file. Since 4.10.0 the ini file is no longer loaded into your GZDoom folder but in the specific OS location.
Sometimes that ini file can be corrupted, then delete the ini file and let GZDoom generate a new ini file.
Or, you could install an empty file called gzdoom_portable.ini in the GZDoom folder and have GZDoom fill it up with the default settings when GZDoom is run.
