Contrary to popular belief, we are not all-knowing-all-seeing magical beings!

If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.

We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

Raze no longer detecting Blood and Shadow Warrior.

Post by TheDeeGee »

Wanted to play Blood: Fresh Supply (Steam) again, but Raze no longer seems to detect it. It's the same 1.7.1 install i had last time i played it.

So for testing i also installed the following games:

Redneck Rampage (GOG)
Shadow Warrior Classic (Steam)
Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary (Steam)

Only Redneck Rampage and Duke Nukem 3D are being detected, despite me having played Shadow Warrior as well a little while ago on the same install.

I also downloaded the latest Raze Dev Build from today (Oct 2), but it still doesn't detect the other two games i previouvly had installed.

I'm pretty much out of ideas.

Seems dropping the entire Blood folder from Steam to Raze makes it detect it again.

How are the games being installed? Through the service's launcher? Copying the files?

Through Steam itself and for GOG i download the offline (drm free) files.

Steam games in "C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common" and GOG Games in C:\Games".

Having just replicated your setup myself:

Redneck Rampage - Downloaded offline installer from GOG.com, installed using default settings to C:\Games\Redneck Rampage Collection. Raze detects all three RR games in startup menu with no issues.

Shadow Warrior - Installed "Shadow Warrior Classic (1997)" package on Steam, default settings, to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow Warrior Original. Raze does not detect SW at all.

I don't know precisely where in the Raze source code to find the expected pathnames/registry keys to check, but I wonder if the installation folder for Shadow Warrior changed at any point; the game files themselves now live in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow Warrior Original\gameroot.

Blood Fresh Supply did get some updates recently i believe, so may as well be because of that.
