If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

DRD Team is moving hosts

Post by Rachael »

Last night Dreamhost shut down DRDTeam's forums due to excess resource usage. I really don't know what triggered the high resource usage, it's a dead-ass forum that very few people who have been around for less than 5 years even knows exists. Anyway, after talking about it with Manc and Weasel, we've decided to go ahead and provision a new host and now I am in the process of moving everything over to it, I expect this will take a while considering the amount of stuff that has been built up over time.

I wanted to give Manc a huge thank you for hosting DRD Team for a full decade, when I was in dire financial straits and couldn't handle the burden anymore, and I also want to thank Weasel for volunteering to take it on in its new form which should hopefully appear in the next couple of days.

Anyway - if you wonder why some things haven't been working - well, now you know.

(Note that this means there will be some downtime with the dev builds site)

Ooh, that is bad. Considering im on Dreamhost thanks to your graciousness and using it for Doomwiki/ZDoomwiki hosting, i'd like to know more on what this entails.

Some parts of the site are back with (for now) temporarily self-signed certificates. I'd like to thank CandiceJoy for assisting me quite a bit with this move. :)

That being said - we'll be working to get full HTTPS with real certs working later today. Until then you'll have to accept the self-signed certificates on the site. (Normally you shouldn't accept self-signed certs, but getting real certs takes a few hours to do)

Thanks for getting it back up again.

All the files of the devbuilds seem to be missing, though. And what's the new way to upload files?

This bit is still in progress. We've been doing a little bit each day, but we'll get there! :)

Devbuilds now live! :D We don't have it setup to the point where you can upload new builds, though. That will likely be soon(tm) xD

What are the new FTP connection protocols? I am trying to Quickconnect using sftp://doomnexus@ftp.drdteam.org but I'm getting "Error: Could not connect to server". The same with ftp://doomnexus@ftp.drdteam.org:51520. It's been a while since I uploaded files using these FTP connections, so I'm guessing something has changed.

We haven’t setup other accounts yet. I’m not sure how Rachael wants to do it :P
