Attempt #2. Rendered the base much closed to the ground.

clever re-jig of the sprite there, A.

also I must just say on the whole design/concept; evil, evil, evil, evil!
purest nightmare fuel! its so hideously and jarringy disturbing. in the best possible way of course...
I can just imagine it dragging itself out of blood pools leaving a trail behind it and, of course, emerging from succubi in an appropriately disgusting gory and disturbing fashion.

genuine class act!

What kinds of undead do the Putrefiers spawn? Is it a specific kind or do they spawn several different ones?

Striga monster completed. Took a bit longer than I would have hoped, but w/e.

@Doominer:

It's projectiles do normal damage if it hits you (5 damage, 15 speed), but if it misses and hits a wall or floor, it turns into a blob of rot that morphs into a Wight after a few seconds. When it dies, 5 wights spawn from its corpse gradually over 10-20 seconds each.

My god. These are absolutely gorgeous, brother. I've seldom seen better monster sprites since... well, since the original Hell-Forged. Such a cool monster design, too. I love how your demon designs are a lot more horrific and evocative of terror and suffering. Makes me think of the Divine Comedy, or if you want a less pretentious comparison, Dark Souls. I also can't sing enough praise about how it's drawn - the way it's animated makes it look like it would be right at home in the original DOOM! I'm so excited for the release of the WAD, the anticipation to see these bad boys in action is killing me!

P.S. you should totally put the prowler from doom eternal into hell-forged that'd be so based (i really just wanna see you make a sprite of him)

The HF-E2 roster is already finalized. Already got more than enough work as is. There're twice the new monsters as HF-E1. Definitely won't be adding any more.

BTW, are your placeholder sprites on front page completed sprites you've already done that are somewhere for d/l, or did you just do some brief respriting to get the idea across before making the actual sprites?

Anything I haven't posted the sheet for is just a concept sprite I made from an old model.

The really cool thing about all your recent sprites is that not only are they terrifying nightmares of creatures but they really get across the feeling that their own existence is a hellishly pained and tormented one too. You wouldn't want to meet them, but you really wouldn't want to be them either.
