Apologies but you're absolutely right, documentation is rather lacking since it's a new product but we'll endeavour to get a Wiki set up on the Github page.
If you have Blood via GOG or Steam (either One Unit Whole Blood or Blood: Fresh Supply), Raze will simply detect the install and present it to play. If you have your original copy of CD, copying the data into a sub-folder of Raze named 'Blood', it will also be detected.

I figured it out, you actually have to drag your nblood file with all the crap in it into the Raze folder and click raze.exe and it worked it didn't auto detect anything as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it's because I had a free version of Blood but I don't know.

Re: How to play Blood
It's not just going to automagically find Blood on your hard drive in arbitrary locations, it always has to be in a known location such as GOG/Steam or within Raze's directory or a Blood subdirectory.
I'm glad you got it working though
. If you have any further questions, please let us know!

Already have one on the site.mjr4077au wrote:Apologies but you're absolutely right, documentation is rather lacking since it's a new product but we'll endeavour to get a Wiki set up on the Github page.

Would actually prefer to use that if possible - since it took Randi a while to set it up, and its DB is linked to ZDoom's main wiki db. (It shares user logins)

Re: How to play Blood
Yeah sure, and probably gives better exposure to end users in the ZDoom community which is a win for all. I believe you set me up with an account at some point in the past but it's just something I need to pull my finger out with and get on top of

Re: How to play Blood
it seems the general way to get build engine games working with raze is to make a subfolder and then copy gamefiles ... mainly grp files in to that folder and then launch raze.exe
the folder names themselves are not terribly important it seems

Re: How to play Blood
That is one option. It also works if you just copy the zip's contents into the game folders. Or if you want better organization you can set the paths manually, of course.

Or let it scan your registry for GOG/Steam installs.

Re: How to play Blood
Let me guess: Since the question came up in the first place, these games do not come from Steam or GOG...

I know, I was just saying
.
Judging by the OP, I think no full game is involved either.

Is there going to be dynamic lighting added? I always loved the dynamic lighting in GZDOOM

Re: How to play Blood
Yes, but it's not something that can be done quickly. Currently Raze still depends on the Polymost renderer which Ken Silverman wrote back in 2003, but the way this works internally makes it almost entirely impossible to handle light sources, because the graphics hardware never sees real coordinates.

Re: How to play Blood
In other words, yes - but that's a story for another time, after we get to the new render, Polymost is too ancient and primitive to support anything more modern.
