Delfino this may be helpful or you may already know about it. This isn't just for the blood, but when I'm using different replacement palettes, in order to get the most out of them, I like to go to Display Options, Hardware Rendering, Post-Processing, Tonemap Mode, and set it to Palette mode. This way every single thing being rendered will adhere to the palette.

- Gives pain elementals black blood
- Gives revenants "dark orange #4" blood (a nice gross color that resembles a cross between bone marrow and vomit)
- Copies the blood colors for everyone over to copies with the prefixes of "Smooth" and "New", which will allow them to be passed on to Smooth Doom monsters as well as any monsters added by a mod that names them "New" anything (the most common name used when making modded versions of monsters).
Does this require the base add-on or is it independent?

I have updated the mod to use improvements that will debut in GZDoom 4.14.1 (and onwards).

In short, CBLOOD used to do things very inefficiently by temporarily spawning an intermediate Actor to do the blood color changing. Updates to CopyBloodColor for GZDoom 4.14.1 means I no longer have to spawn any temporary Actors.

tl;dr CBLOOD is doing things more efficiently in the 2025 update (and should improve performance, too).

Unfortunately, this API change also means that previously-made custom blood definitons won't work anymore. Please see the updated second post for the new format.

Now, that aside - GZDoom 4.14.1 is not out yet at the time I'm writing this post. I am still uploading the update pre-emptively, though, because my free time is VERY limited these days and it's difficult to synchronize my activities with the GZDoom team.

If you are using dev builds from DRDTeam (https://devbuilds.drdteam.org) then, CBLOOD v1.1 should be runnable. But if you do not use devbuilds, then you will have to wait for GZDoom 4.14.1 to officially release (which, at the time of this post, should be really soon, like within the same week or the next)
