Great megawads to play with Brutal Doom/Project Brutality?

Post by mroldschoolfpsgames »

(Move this post if it doesn't belong here.)

I just got Project Brutality 2.03 and I've found it to be very fun and chock full of gameplay modifications and obviously gore. I need megawads that have no monster or weapon modifications - vanilla megawads of any kind. (Except crappy ones - I want something that'll result in a room smeared in the blood of hellspawn.

Looking forward to suggestions.

the cacowards are an excellent place to start. You probably won't run out of maps to play with this, since there's just so many fantastic maps.

First off, I'll say that Oblige 7.70 and ObAddon might be your best bet if you're looking for some casual Brutal Doom/Project Brutality fun.

However, if you're looking to make as much of the walls red as possible, and are looking to kill legions upon legions of demons, perhaps slaughter wads like the Slaughterfest Series, Sunlust, the Okuplok Slaughter Map, and perhaps even Memorial's a good place to look for a good way to scratch your Brutal Doom/Project Brutality itch.

If not, aside from the Cacowards or the really popular megaWADs, I'm not sure what to tell 'ya, but I will say that if you feel you have good knowledge of how levels work, flow, and all that complex stuff, perhaps you could try your hand at making a few maps yourself, and make the megawad that can fit just right with Brutal Doom/Project Brutality.

EDIT: Also, be careful about talking about Brutal Doom around these parts, a great controversy happened in Doomworld and these very forums years ago, and the community's still kinda fighting over the whole kerfluffle.
