Do I understand this right? The middle (of three) sector has four linedefs.
Two of them are for the connection with the bottom, the other two are for the ceiling.
What do you provide as arguments for the middle sector. In GZDB I can select "bottom", "ceiling" and "both".

Yes, the middle sector will have four linedefs. All you have to do is treat each pair of linedefs (floor and ceiling) as seperate pairs, so no "both" or such. However, remember that you will need one linedef from each pair to be linked to the middle sector. You will have three different sectors linked after all.
