If you're using a VPN, sometimes that can affect whether or not a link works. Discord oftentimes performs IP bans, which means your IP address (whether masked or not) would be excluded from consideration by the link. Thus, changing your VPN server can help to navigate around that.
If you're not using a VPN, it's possible someone else within the same IP address range may have been IP banned, and thus you got affected as well.

I’m a new person trying to join the discord but I keep being booted out and I’m unable to access the channel where I’m supposed to introduce myself. I have since changed my user as I was assuming that was the reason but I was booted even afterwards.

IP addresses are not unique or static for average Internet users. Your ISP may reassign addresses for various reasons. Discord may ban a range of IP addresses for some reason, which might include yours. All that is out of our control.
What is in our control are the users we've banned, and so far as I can tell the username(s) you provided are not in the ban list. I'm sorry but that's the best answer I have and getting more angry about it isn't going to solve the problem.
UPD: information below is no longer relevant. The old https://dsc.gg/zdoom link has been updated and now functions the same way as https://dsc.gg/zdoom-server: both links provide unlimited access even if you don't get any roles after joining.

Hey everyone, I've just edited the invite link to be https://dsc.gg/zdoom-server. The previous link had an issue where it was using a "temporary membership" feature that would auto-kick people with no roles after a while, which was problematic. This new link shouldn't be doing that. If you run into any issues with the new link, post here.
If you joined earlier and got auto-kicked before you were approved by a moderator, please use the new link to re-join.
I have PM'ed one of the admins here about my current ban status on the discord server but I haven't gotten any response yet. So I am gonna ask here instead, is my ban lifted now on Discord server or not?

Sorry for not replying to the PM; I missed it somehow.
Your discord account which was banned shows deleted (as in, doesn't exist on Discord anymore). However, the ban is over two years old and I'm inclined to be forgiving. If you wish to rejoin with a new account it will not be banned, so long as you follow all the rules and remain civil.

Okay thank you. I deleted my previous discord account more or less intentional because I got too mad, I didn't do do that for the purpose of ban dodging. I will try to be more civil and listening to the admins and moderators this time. And the ban is over 2 years old? I could swear it was less than that.
