[WIP] Defragmentation (demo)

Taking a shot at horror map. Goal: Scarry spoopy feeling without any scripted jumpscares.

Highly recommend to play this in GZDoom. Does take advantage of jumping.

Pretty cool, took me a while to finish this since the walking speed is reduced considerably, but pretty okay.
The starting area can get a bit dull though, walking around the same room copy pasted 64 times can kinda kill the moody atmosphere, especially with the looping emergency noise.
I think i even missed the shotgun the first time since i don't want to bother searching the other rooms and got stuck facing the first corrupted.
Could have had the flashlight spotlight larger, reminds me of the days playing AoM with that small thing.

Also found the little secret in the acid room, got me into reading the ol' wiki for new entries again.

I feel it's unfair to take away the player's fists, especially considering what bullet sponges the monsters are. Once ammo is dry, the player can do nothing but die, especially as he's now too slow to run away from many enemies.

Noted. I mainly took out the fists because it caused issues with quickly switching between your flashlight and gun. I'll see what I can do.

Perhaps a melee attack with the flashlight, a la Doom 3?

That's what I'm thinking. It'd be cool if the pointlight moved with the swing. I put more time into getting he lighting effects properly working than anything else. In love with how the three guns available light up the room just briefly, giving you that small chance to figure out where everything is. Flashlight sweeping across the screen would be awesome too, hitting one enemy and as the light goes across you see a couple few more.

Haha, you're the first to mention it. I've been putting that secret in all my maps. It started as a joke to include in my first project, and I kinda just loved it a bit too much. May have to move it again now that it's already been found :P
