Bounty? Karma? Spells, weapons, AND a "cyborg upgrade system"? Open world? 12 grenade types? 7 chainguns??? Some of this stuff seems thrown in just for the hell of it. You're thinking way too big here. Gonna be honest, looks to me like project's been killed before it was even started. It won't happen.

Re: [GLOOME] The Cataclysm
Yeah, um, this seems ridiculously ambitious. The open-world aspect seems like it would be rather tough to do well in a Doom engine, among other listed features. Sorry to say, seeing how you've shown us this "elaborate design document" and yet no real screenshots aside from two on the second page where essentially everything shown is a placeholder, I don't expect this to work out, at least in its current state.TheMightyHeracross wrote:Bounty? Looks like another person-with-little-knowledge-of-how-games-are-made's lofty dreamgame concept.
And how many of these projects have actually been finished and released?loismustdie555 wrote: First massive project; Yes

Plus, plan for this is to mostly work on the mechanics and then work/focus on the game world.

And what are these "projects," then? And why did you feel the need not to link to them in the op?

Oh crap, I just noticed "commercial game" on the front. Why? How much would this even sell for?

How much progress are you making day by day? how many of these features are already implemented?

Re: [GLOOME] The Cataclysm
So far, I've got, kicking, punching, grenade throwing, hitmarkers, radar, limited sprint system, a WIP version of a leveling system (has bugs to iron out rn), and I have a nearly (95% or so) complete dialogue tree coded for the first NPC the player will encounter.StatisticalHourglass wrote:How much progress are you making day by day? how many of these features are already implemented?
Demo is working on maps as well (obviously).
EDIT: Will release mega mega alpha demo video soon.

Re: [GLOOME] The Cataclysm
I'm acutely curious of how this will turn out to be because I've had some ideas going on in my head of some of the stuff said in the features list. Mostly the Junk make-shift weapons and upgrade/level systems, because who doesn't like makin' stuff and shooting it afterwards. Keep on developing mang, if it starts to get good I'd damn well play the hell out of it for sure.

Re: [GLOOME] The Cataclysm
also just a heads up, some of the more makeshift guns might have a slight tendancy to........ explode when fired.
