At least you don't have problems trying to look for an Aglet, making these boots was painful only because of the Aglet.
Also Fart in a Jar is best thing in a bottle.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
I am drowning in aglets, what i need is a wind anklet. Guess it's time to go jungle-diving... anything to postpone my inevitable encounter with the Wall of Flesh, really.
Ugh... I'm gonna have to dig out tunnels to wall off the evil biome, too. I swear it always generates inside the desert and/or jungle.

Jumping accessories in Terraria
single jump with nothing: 6
single jump with Shiny Red Balloon: 10
single jump with Frog Leg: 10
single jump with Balloon Pufferfish: 10
single jump with Balloon Pufferfish and Shiny Red Balloon: 10
single jump with Frog Leg and Shiny Red Balloon: 16
single jump with Balloon Pufferfish and Frog Leg: 16
single jump with Balloon Pufferfish, Frog Leg, and Shiny Red Balloon: 16
Conclusion: the SRB and the BPF are pretty much the same thing as far as jumping goes. They don't stack, and they provide the same benefits. So I'm not going to test the double jumps with both these accessories. So now for the Cloud/Blizzard/Sandstorm/Tsunami in bottles
double jump (CIAB):
alone: 11 (the official wiki says 9)
with frog leg: 19
with balloon: 19 (wiki says 17)
with frog leg + balloon: 30
double jump (BIAB):
alone: 14
with frog leg: 24
with balloon: 25
with frog leg + balloon: 38
double jump: (SIAB):
alone: 20
with frog leg: 34
with balloon: 36
with frog leg + balloon: 53
double jump: (TIAB):
alone: 13
with frog leg: 22
with balloon: 23
with frog leg + balloon: 35
Now I need to find a whoopie cushion to continue my experiments.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
Gotta say, the Moon Lord is pretty difficult in single player. But I managed to beat him, thanks to asphalt, maximum running speed, ability to dodge attacks, teleporters, and increased invulnerability time. Woo!
That moon bite debuff makes the vampire knives and magical healing armor worthless. I covered a quarter of the map in asphalt and whenever I saw the tongue, I dodged to full speed and RAN! (You can outrun the tongue by the way.)

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
Has the game been crashing to desktop a lot for anyone else recently? I've experienced crashes, like, twice in my entire history of playing Terraria before 1.3, but now I get them at least once per day.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
No crash for me.
Found my second nymph and got the metal detector. Fun fact: nymphs don't count as rare enemies as far as the lifeform analyzer is concerned. Now all I need to make the cell phone is to go in the dungeon to get a tally counter, and do a hundred thousand of the stupid angler's dumb quests to get the fish function items.

Only as Lost Girl. And it will detect her only once per world because every other spawn will immediately be as Nymph.Gez wrote:Fun fact: nymphs don't count as rare enemies as far as the lifeform analyzer is concerned.
Fun times to be had

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
for my first nymph i just jumped down and attacked with my sword at random, then suddenly i got the deceiver of fools achievement and finally pulled out my torches :v.
I got most of the Lunatic Cultist's behavior checked, now my only problem will be dealing enough damage while also not getting rekt myself, peraphs all these weapons i collected will help a lot.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
It seems like an unintentional feature, but frog legs are *by far* the best mobility item when used in conjunction with jump modifiers - due to the seemingly unintentional feature of multiplying the velocity of all jump-related actions, such as flying.Gez wrote:Jumping accessories in Terraria.
Exactly that last part means that you can actually dodge vertically, which is insanely useful in conjunction with the shield of Cthulhu dash.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
Is your character and/or world set to save on the Steam cloud? I suspected it may have something to do with that, but I have no evidence one way or the other.Gez wrote:No crash for me.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
I'm using the GOG version, so I doubt it's using the Steam cloud.
Something stupid happened. I went to the dungeon while riding my slime mount and talked to the old man there. I jumped atop Skeletron's skull and boing boing boing quickly got into the stratosphere this way, until it moved and I fell back down and Skeletron despawned during the fall. So, goomba-stomping bosses isn't such a fool-proof idea after all.

edit: i checked the terraria forums and other people reported crashing with steam cloud enabled and being fine once they turned it off, so... there's that.
guess i just have to go back to making manual backups until they fix it, then.
Yeah that happened the first time I tried that. After that I thought "maybe if I just bounce against the ceiling" but that just made me die extremely quickly. After that, I just used it for dodging purposes, since activating the Slime mount makes you fall rapidly, which is also good for Hellevators.Something stupid happened. (Also, the bounce-into-the-sky thing is good for distracting Dungeon Guardians while another player runs through and loots the place, although if you're going to that much trouble you might as well just kill Skeletron)
also also: i got the cosmic car keys from that alien invasion in my old world, and they summon a pretty cool mount... my only complaint about them is that they don't make that "chirp"-like noise that car keys used to make when you remote-unlocked the doors.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
Can't defeat the Moon Lord, the Lunatic Cultist is easy enough and the pillars aren't much of a trouble, except for the solar pillar and the stardust pillar's cells, but the moon lord is a big meenie bunz ;(.
So yeah, the lunar is event is pretty fun.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
Just as an FYI, Crawltipedes ignore you (they can still hit you but they won't chase you) if you're not up in the air. Gotta stay low; Not necessarily on the ground, but you can't just be flying around like usual.
Of course, the rest of the mobs from that pillar are designed to be deadly on the ground... Enemies with synergy is a nice change of pace, I suppose.
(Also? The Razorblade Typhoon beats the hell out of almost anything the game can throw at you... Duke Fishron's drops in general, really.)
