Are Duke Nukem 3d mods dead?

If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

Thanks for the early birthday gift, James. Looking forward to this.

If there's a thread to mention this, it's here: 3D Realms is hiring folks with BUILD Engine experience for a new project.

I really wish I could play this! AMC TC is fantastic, but my PC is on the fritz at the moment. Hopefully I'll be able to play through the second episode when I upgrade.
The gameplay I saw looks amazing!

Thanks for the kind words - this release is pretty good as far as stable and bug-free go, but there's still a few little things that slipped through the net (beta testing a mod this big was a bit of a nightmare especially since I had a ton of overtime at work) so at the very least when you get to play it you'll have a slightly more polished experience.

Yeah, I've been playing it through and it's really great. As far as bugs go, the jump pad thingy in the hell level after base Ganymede doesn't seem to work properly.

Yeah another person notified me of that as well, that's the second time I've broken that pad in a release heh heh. It's just a coincidence that that pad is in hell and seems cursed...I hope  Glad you're enjoying it otherwise though.

I do have one complaint about the mod in general. I want to play as Duke Nukem, but I think that might defeat the point. Maybe in the 3rd episode. Although that's a while off.

Yeah - that and you can't really tell a story or narrative with Duke in it unless you recycle his lines or make every cutscene silent text, which I didn't want to do. I think EP2 gives the characters more opportunity to shine so hopefully people will like the cast a bit more as well.

Any tips for the robot bosses on the island level? I think i've run out of rocket launchers and there are a bunch of rockets around that I can't pick up!

Those are DUP missiles, they're an alternate ammo type for the Zilla missile launcher - you can use them with it by hitting the alternate ammo type key (it was done this way as they can be used in conjuction with the heat seeking fire mode as well) and selecting them from the menu.

Ah! Thanks a bunch! I'm having a blast with the mod so far, the original was incredible and this second part is even better! If I could make a suggestion for the next one, (not sure how hard this would be) could there be a "Create a class" character? You could use the AMC trooper sprites and let the player select from temporary weapons. This might not work well with the story levels, but it could be okay with the extra missions!

There's also BLiGHT which is worth a look I think.
