[Request] Jet noises.
Looking for sound effects of fighter jets/bombers flying by. Trying to make a nice looking airstrike and I'm going to need something loud to shake the ground
Anyone have any good suggestions as to where to get some?

These sound pretty good to me, and I'll bet that site has a lot more. One of the better resource sites out there.

theres a pretty good one in stronghold, might be sounding a little too futuristic, spaceship-y though.Apothem wrote:Looking for sound effects of fighter jets/bombers flying by. Half life is close, but I'm really looking for something a bit more clear sounding. I was really hoping that I could find something similar to the sound used in Call Of Duty's airstrikes.Ben2k9 wrote:have you tried half-life?

I've can probably do CoD4 if you need that.

those will be handy for other things, DaMan, thank you very much. However, I am really looking for that screeching fight jet buzz-by kind of sound from COD 4.
Re: [Request] Jet noises.
Indeed, and you may try out one of those pay-for-sound sites too for even more variety, if the price is reasonable.Akira_98 wrote:http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=51491

In fact, can't someone just generate an appropriate jet noise from white (random) noise, using specific algorithms?

Doesn't sound as authentic that way. Best route is pre-sampled stuff.
Re: [Request] Jet noises.
Finally got around to ripping CoD4.

Re: [Request] Jet noises.
That CoD4 sound pack was exactly what I needed. Thanks a bunch!
Re: [Request] Jet noises.
This reminds me of an air show we just had in town a week ago. Too bad I didn't attend, one of the pilots died piloting a Russian Yak. Guess he wasn't warned about their lax quality control. From what I heard he slammed into the ground and made a nice large fireball. I can't resist and need to make a joke about this sad sorry... "In Soviet Russia the Yak flies you!"

He died of his injuries? I think he died from the impact and the explosion. The news media is so silly.

It might be forgivable if said "joke" actually made freaking sense and was the least bit funny.Tragos wrote:I can't resist and need to make a joke about this sad sorry... "In Soviet Russia the Yak flies you!"
BECAUSE NOBODY IS EVER INJURED IN A CRASH, THEY JUST *POOF* DEAD AND THEN ALL THE INJURIES HAPPEN.Tragos wrote:He died of his injuries? I think he died from the impact and the explosion. The news media is so silly.

"multiple blunt traumatic and thermal injuries"
If you bothered to read the news post. Mighty fancy explanation for a simple BOOM! Roasted like a marshmallow might upset people? Sorry if you saw no humor in it NeuralStunner. Lets not derail the thread any further.

Re: [Request] Jet noises.
Hmm, so explosions and impacts no longer cause "Injuries". Good to know
