!!ATTENTION!! - Please Secure Your Passwords!

We sure do have a lot of rules and guidelines threads - find them all here, and please make sure you've read them! Also, community-wide announcements (that aren't major ZDoom News) go here as well.

If you ask me, there are likely hundreds of other, more lucrative places to hit with a database of passwords like that than a gaming community: e-mail servers, bank software, investment portfolio sites, anything else to do with money, etc. This seems to be a "because I can, fuck you all and also all hail Burtel Dum" publicity stunt/cry for help. (God forbid I say "social experiment")

Edit: Or maybe it's what grants him more enjoyment in life than a Viagra drip.

And why you need to wink if you know that your gonna get banned anyway because you spam in the forums
Just saying =)
It's allright friend I think I have about 80 accounts left. tho i plan to leave 50 on some other time. So it's still 30 accounts. I plan to lose one on a day. This gives one month fun.
The sheer amount of "fuck you" I have for this scumbag knows no bounds. Go get a life, you basement-dwelling waste of oxygen.

80 compromised accounts. Fuck.

Why not ban all inactive accounts? It'll take a lot of time for the mods but it'll sure save everyone lots of trouble. Anyone can message the mods anyway just in case they want to reactivate their account.

Time for some teamwork, guys. Ignoring the problem won't make it go away. A few sweeper mods can clean this place perfectly. Deleting the shitposts in time is a very good start, imho.

EDIT:
@4thcharacter: 2400 accounts. Good luck. Not including the active people.

I would like to remind a certain few people:
Official ZDoom Rules and Guidelines wrote:Don't "call out" rule-breakers! If you suspect a user of ban-evading, sock-puppeting, or any other sort of rule-breakage, please use the Report This Post button or otherwise contact the moderators. DO NOT call them out in public, as this tends to make actual ban-evaders more careful and thus harder to deal with, and may make you look like a jerk if you wind up being wrong.

Do not reply to shit posts. If someone's just spamming or flooding a bunch of threads with nonsense (or other things against the rules), do not respond to them, especially if the shit-poster isn't the topic starter, because this just makes it harder for us to clean up the mess. Use the Report function or alert the moderators.

Yeah, I get that, I would also like to know if we're any closer to getting rid of this guy or if it's a matter of outlasting him.

Either way, I think the site needs better security measures.

So people who just randomly come back after hiatus are SOL?

How is that worth you not seeing that guy's posts anymore?

I think it would be better to enable post approval for inactive accounts.

The whole idea behind this is to starve these people for attention. They can't get attention very effectively if nearly every account they compromise is stuck under a moderator blanket.

unfortunately, this kind of reaction is exactly why these people do this.

You're missing the point. Responding to garbage just encourages more garbage, and leaves more for us to clean up. Report the garbage and move on.

If you don't put locks on your house, is the city responsible for your house being broken into? Site's security is fine, except for the weak point we can't really do much about: Users with awful passwords. (Hence this announcement.)

The problem here is that if someone breaks into my (or another person's) house they can mess up everyone else's house, too. Maybe not burglarize them, but at least poop on their lawn.

Public Service Announcement:
Official Rules and Guidelines wrote:Don't be a backseat moderator. This does not mean you shouldn't report posts if the need arises, but generally, we are perfectly capable of doing our jobs as administrators, so yelling at people about how they're breaking the rules does not solve anything.

Don't "call out" rule-breakers! If you suspect a user of ban-evading, sock-puppeting, or any other sort of rule-breakage, please use the Report This Post button or otherwise contact the moderators. In short, Report and Ignore. Do not engage.
