Re: The WIP Thread

Some time ago (read: many, many years) I made a low poly model that was an approximation of the Strife Crusader robot, changed to suit my own needs.
My son has a 3D printer, so we decided to see how it would look.
The answer is a bit rough but pretty cool. It definitely needs tidying up, and maybe a new print with some different settings, and it really shows the low-poly-ness of the model. We also had to edit the model a bit to make it look "right" and to overcome some problems with the physicality of printing.
However, I'm really happy with the result. It's really quite something to hold in my hand a model that I made so many years ago, which I have seen in game many times but is now a physical thing.

Once I get this one as good as I can, I may look at similar other things to print.

"Put down the 3D printer! You have twenty seconds to comply!!"
That's very good. (Though I don't think the devs of Strife could have ripped off the ED-209 harder if they had tried to

Re: The WIP Thread
They are very obviously ED209 "inspired". Of course, the ED209 is a very cool design, to it's totally understandable IMO.
