Heh, I first read that as "Origami Doom", which I suddenly want to see now. :P

I'm sure someone out there knows how to fold a napkin to the shape of an Imp...

@Shadow Scythe: Very interesting. Possibly the most original look to a mod since Foreverhood!

As for me... I'm making a 1024 map now. Nearly done, as you'd expect.

I could see that set up at a fancy id-themed restaurant. Would you like a turkey dinner? (+10 health)

@Shadow Scythe: Holy crap! That looks reall cool!

By the way, those little robot guys look almost exactly like the ones I drew back when I was in elementary school, only they had a red head and don't have those little antenae things on their head.

1024 Map is done - I've now created a handy little wad that swaps Nightmare difficulty for a "UV Pistol Starts" difficulty, using LOADACS to load up a script 900 (figured that was a safe bet) to make it so every new map you start is a clean pistol start. As maps tend to be made individually, this will be useful for getting rid of excesses of ammo and items built up between them. ITYTD, HNTR, HMP and UV are still in as they normally would be as well.

Think these three maps I've made and this extra wad will probably end up going into some sort of episode. I've had plenty of ideas for small maps as of late, and I've been mapping them all around the loose theme of techbases so they'd fit together alright.

Why, goodness me!! I'm flattered!

...now I really want to get enough things done so we can release a wad.

By the way, I think we guys do need some help when it comes to mapping. Neither of us are experienced at it, really, you see. Would anyone around here like to help out when we have enough resources to make maps with?

(Oh by the way that keycard thing on that last page was pretty neat and I think I might make my own now.)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present.... true L.O.D. Particle Trees. :D
Spoiler:
Download

Be aware that this may badly lag some people's computers. Also, support for the "simple" flashlight is not complete. If you wish to see the effect more clearly, use the lightamp goggles cheat. Each tree is created with only one or two actors placed in the map editor. I plan on tweaking this effect in the future to allow higher and lower levels of detail, it's just rather time intensive to implement.

And lots of DECORATE code. ;) The beauty is, you only need to place one actor and the system does the rest.

I'm GUESSING some distance checking, though I could see such things breaking online, depending on implementation. Still a very cool effect, and the type of thing that would be brilliant in an atmospheric SP experience. Bravo!
