huh they really are?.. i didnt test it out when i placed the afrits in, theyll suck for the fighter im sure, but the other hero's should have no trouble honestly, and i may have that same texture for the steel areas, just with different 'gems'? i think i remember seeing a yellow version of it, so it could fit

They are for the Fighter, yes. Seeing as they fly around and the Fighter at this point isn't equipped with ranged weapons, it makes it difficult to chase them when they hover above the lava lake; the other two have no trouble however.

should i remove them ? also i got the dark gargoyle from realm667 to work in hexen but their sprites flicker for some reason when they throw/shoot their projectile, im not sure if theyre made like that or not but other than that they work perfectly

No, they're fine, they are a pain in the rear but not something game breaking. And I see, perhaps it's a missing frame or an error in their DECORATE, that's what it sounds like, as far as I understand.

it could be, im going to try them out in heretic and see if they do the same thing, if they do then i guess theyre meant to do it, and as for the first steel room, im thinking it should be fairly simple with a few enemies obviously, the crusher/piston traps with a maze like path to the switch unlocking the area to the portal

well as far as i could tell last night, the crushers are scripted, and they only work on specific levels i think..i suppose i could just make a small maze for the first steel entrance, if i can get the dart spitters to work, then ill add them but i believe that theyre scripted as well. i also changed the door texture in the fire entrance to a lich with red around it, which would be the blood lich boss. i think its rather cool, and im doing the same thing for the guardian of steel, except that the lich has a yellow background, and if i can find a good spot for the ice lich, ill add it in the entrance to the ice portal.

I think they're scripted, yes, but they should work on any level where they're used. And that usage of the textures would look pretty neat.

i have to try it out..but in other news, the boss of the seven portals will definitely be the minotaur. TheMightyHeracross helped me out again, and ive got the entire cast of monsters from heretic working other than the iron lich and d'sparil, i have to still attempt to use the undead knight, but im sure he'll work fine. and im still having trouble with that damned blood lich...but hopefully thatll get resolved shortly.

Fantastic, he should make for a hectic fight due to the cliff next to him and the relative crampedness of the area.

It is indeed shaping well. The entrances alone add a lot of character to the map.
