Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
Hi Talon1024, thanks for your review! I agree: NeoDoom was a unique context, when DeHackEd still was the way in which we could make further changes in the engine. Very different from today. I struggled to make Final NeoDoom, but unfortunately it will never be as good as the first one...

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
Even though I do have my criticism towards Final NeoDoom, I still deal with it as different beast than the first one. There better and worse things compared to the original.Daniel wrote: I struggled to make Final NeoDoom, but unfortunately it will never be as good as the first one...
However, it still sads me that some part of the Doom community, to this day, doens't give value to NeoDoom. Even this article was another missed oportunity to show some recognition to Daniel's work.
BTW, what about this "Nostalgia" episode, Daniel?

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
Hi PyroHeisenberg!
The "Nostalgia" intends to mix traditional Doom-looking map texture sets and ambience (of course, apart from 3D floors, dynamic lights, brightmaps, etc.) with the gameplay (weapons, inventory and enemies) from the main Final NeoDoom. But I've finished only two maps so far...

The question is because I had an issue against this site about 15 years ago, and seems that they'll keep this grudge for-ever.PyroHeisenberg wrote:However, it still sads me that some part of the Doom community, to this day, doens't give value to NeoDoom. Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
I noticed on the start screens it says that Final Neodoom is gonna be your final doom mod.
I sure hope this isn't the case, you make some brilliant maps and mods
Also, just noticed you never uploaded Daniel Level series 3 & 4 to Doomworld

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
Hello dear Zenon,
Indeed, Final NeoDoom is my last mod. I'm approaching 40 years and have bills to pay, so I cannot afford more Doom editing only at free time. Specially when I don't own any support from the biggest Doom community today - Doomworld - in which the word "NeoDoom" remains almost forbidden. Beside any argument from them, the fact is that it is a personal persecute - they don't and will never recognize the relevance of any of my mods.
I've released a few days ago a collection of old maps called "ReMod". Nothing new. But if you're interested, here is the link: https://www.moddb.com/mods/remod.
Thanks!

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
Many thanks for the info, it's a shame Doomworld doesn't value you as much as we do here as I believe you partly kickstarted the ZDoom modding scene with Neodoom, your weapon packs, etc. if I'm not mistaken.
We will always welcome your return with open arms as you are always appreciated here

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
I'll get my hands on this as soon as I can, NeoDoom was the first megawad I ever played and it definitely played an important part of my childhood, so I want to thank you for that! I still remember laughing like mad when I saw the random football logos in that stadium level, was it Botafogo? I think it was, so it felt really close to home e.e
It's really a shame to see how much of a grudge there is against NeoDoom on other boards, but I know for sure I'll enjoy this final version, thanks for uploading it!

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
Hello! Very good to know that NeoDoom played an important role for you, specially around 2005. It was also well played in old ZDaemon serves, as far as I know. This is the only support we need to keep going on.
PS. Juka: the stadium pics are from Atlético Mineiro hehe!

Played it. Very impressive, lots of work put into it.
Congratulations, Daniel

Your music in Neodoom is nice too, what are the tracks called?
Have you made music outside of Neodoom? My buddy and I were hoping to have your music to listen to outside of Neodoom

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
Thank You! Cool mod.
Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
I like this mod but enemies don't drop weapons in the last version, is that intentional?

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
The beach in map12 is very peaceful and calming, I love it.
It was also like this in the original Neodoom.
I hope I can be excused for speaking for Daniel in saying that it is very much intentional, it's so that you get weapons by finding them in the maps rather than getting them earlier than intended by killing an enemy who has that weapon.jonok wrote:I like this mod but enemies don't drop weapons in the last version, is that intentional?

Re: [MOD] Final NeoDoom
Waaaay late to this party -- I hope someone is out there watching.
How/where do you get the Nuclear Missile Launcher in Final Neodoom? I can't seem to find any info anywhere online. In level 18 I find a whole slew of Nuclear Missiles, but near as I can tell the weapon itself is nowhere to be found.
Thank you!
