Aliens vs. Marines - AVM

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

You are most welcome.

That was mostly for DR's benefit, since you'd posted the same question elsewhere so it was (kinda) solved already.

The concept reminds me of Ghouls vs Humans. This is looking nice! Keep it up.

After many tired nights and nearly at the point of giving up, I finally did it. How does the marine look? I'm very happy with how he came out. The in game sprite is actually 3x the size. 90's style sprites WOO!

Tragos, contact Deimos Anomaly immediately. His maps are so good that ignoring his offer should be a crime.

I absolutely adore this aesthetic. How many megapixels is the camera you used to capture these?

No Digital camera friend. A JVC SVHS camcorder which was around 20 bucks used, then fed into a Pinnacle Studio USB Video Capture System. Don't bother chromakeying either it ruins the sprite, finally drop the colors to 256 then use a program to filter out what's left of the background if any. A free program like GraphicsGale is my favorite. No need for photoshop here. Took me a lot of trial and error to get this whole process down. Using a graphics tablet is a must for re-touching the sprites, it saves you a whole lot of time! The basic wacom tablet for $70 works well enough for me.

Thanks and good luck.

I love the world wide appeal of Doom. Deimos Anomaly well deserves fame for his mapping skills, glad to have him a part of the team.
