Nice find. I agree with that pretty much 100%.

Now that I've seen the first four episodes, I feel I can say that I don't really get it.

I just watched episodes 2 - 4. I kind of like it, not enough to go crazy over it though. It's probably because I need something light-hearted and carefree to counter balance my music/games about killing people.

I hate to say, I watched a few of the episodes, and I'm an addict. The show is careless and random, but follows a cute storyline. I'm loving Twilight Sparkle (because I simply love nerds).

Sad thing is, I'm 21 years old, and a male. . . Is this wrong for me to like a 'girly' show?

And BlueFire's response.

...and meanwhile I've just watched like 5 arbitrarily selected episodes back to back.

Thanks, ZDoom Forums.

Lucky Star's one I never understood, personally. If I wanted a slice-of-life comedy, Azumanga Daioh is at least funny. =P

You're never to old to be enjoying cartoons, no matter what intended audience said show is meant for.
And I really wouldn't call this show that girly, compared to the crap my parents think I would enjoy when I was younger.

Well, my family can't tell the difference between Lucky Star and My Little Pony in the 'girly' genre. To them, one is anime, the other is a kiddy show. It'll take alot of reasoning to them to prove otherwise.

To my parents, everything is girly and kiddy. Animes, Manga, Touhou, and almost all of the stuff I like.

I think it's interesting to read not just the comments of praise that appear on the MLP videos on YouTube, but the names of the user(s) who posted them.

The Highest Rated Comment on the very first episode (which my brother and I watched together) belonged to a user called CarlosEddieHernandez. Not just one, but three of the most masculine names conceivable. It was at that point that my brother and I realized we were going to be ensnared permanently into the series - if someone with a name like that could become so helplessly addicted to it, then it was definitely not going to be something aimed explicitly and exclusively at a female audience. We still agree on that.
