I'll be honest: from the picture, I can't really tell if randy is a he or she.........

I guess the underlying point here is that it doesn't matter. Though if that is the case, the entire point of this thread may not matter either

There seems to me to be a significant number of transgendered individuals in the ZDoom community. I've always wondered why that is. Is it simply a reflection of the increasing numbers of transgendered people across the entire internet, or is there something about Doom or ZDoom in particular? Did the presence of one or two transgendered people attract more to the community?

I actually didn't know many transgender folk are in this community.

I used to be KraiggoWaffles. I had Randi change my name a while back to reflect my identity shift of sorts.

As for a beautiful selfie of myself, I unfortunately haven't got one of those. I will take one, once I unpack my webcam again.

i don't think there's "that" many transgender people here. i think it's more that this community isn't nearly as indicting against that kind of stuff here, so people, eventually (like me), feel more comfortable sharing those details here. i guess i, or someone else before me, may have started a trend where they tell that their gender identity is out of the norm, and when people aren't reacting as harshly against it, more people share those details about themselves. it might just feel like it's many because that stuff tends to stick out more from the crowd.

for the record, i don't think i'm transgender, per se. at least not the literal definition. i dunno if it's called anything specific, but i just feel comfortable being referred to as both.

Well no, there is a distinction between one's sex, which is a physical, biological property, and their gender, which is much more abstract and nebulous. But I suppose a discussion of this magnitude would warrant its own thread, so I won't delve any further.

bigender sounds just about right. i don't "switch" between the two of them, at least it feels like a wrong description to attribute to me. identifying as both is what i do.

also, you're confusing someone's sex with someone's gender, like Trance just said, and i said earlier on in the thread. gender can mean a lot of things, in society it's a sort of construct (which is rather limited and also seems to confuse a person's sex with their gender), while to a person it could be anything. to me it's simply a non-problem, or at least it doesn't bother me that much.
