The Still New What Did You Last Do Thread
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
A couple of days ago I got back from Hellfest. Saw bands such as Morbid Angel, Cradle of Filth, Destruction, Sodom, Kreator, In Flames, Vader, Possessed, Mayhem, UFO, Opeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Scorpions and Angel Witch. One festival down, another 4 to go, with High Voltage being next up.

I think some sort of amphibious car would be the best way to go these days. Something that'll drive just fine on asphalt and when it floods (or if you find yourself driving into a river), inflate a ring around the car and get some turbines going for forward thrust.Zippy wrote:All we ever hear is "Flying Car" this and "Flying Car" that. So, right after I posted this, they upped their crest prediction another meter. We have now fled. Hopefully the water doesn't make it all the way up the lawn and flood us, but we'll see. In the meantime, my home for the indefinite future is now a camper in the middle of nowhere.randy wrote:so we don't technically need to leave. We're right on the edge.

That flood looks scary. Good luck Randy! Hope nothing bad happens.

Can this utter garbage that I made in MS-paint be considered art?

It's a little late for that now. The river has been rising very fast today: 4 feet in the last 12 hours, with 3 more to go before it crests. I am told there is now water in the street outside our place. But even if the river doesn't make it inside, the sewer has already backed up in the basement, so there's water in there anyway.Trooper 077 wrote:They wont let you go back to sandbag?
The only good news I've gotten today is that they slightly lowered their crest prediction. It's also supposed to be nearly crested in 12 hours, and then its rise is supposed to significantly slow down. But even after it's crested, the water's still supposed to stick around for four days before it even starts (slowly) dropping.
Oh, and the whole reason we're flooding now is supposedly because the two reservoirs along the river in Canada got a lot of rain over the weekend. They were already nearly at capacity, so they started releasing water at a rate nearly three times what they had been doing. Did they really need to let it out that fast? I don't know. I just hope I don't lose anything of value that I might have missed.
Considering that just throwing paint at a canvas can be considered art, I'm sure it can.Sodaholic wrote:Can this utter garbage that I made in MS-paint be considered art?

Well, it's better than anything Pollock.

I was just about to say that. There's a reason his name is (almost) rhyming slang.Xaser wrote:Well, it's better than anything Pollock.

if PissChrist can be considered art, then I suppose this could be, too. I'm no art critic, though. =P

...I actually thought PissChrist was a pretty neat idea.

I'm not either, but a random pile of newspapers simply titled Newspaper can also be considered art to the art critics.
