I agree.

I would like to see a list of things Nintendo has shutdown, though. It doesn't surprise me that there are certainly going to be at least a few ones. I just kind of get the feeling it isn't quite as wild and rampant as portrayed here.

The stupid thing is that AFAIK, the reason Nintendo has earned a reputation for zealously protecting their copyrights is by ordering multiple ROM hosting sites to shut down or face legal action, not by shutting down such projects. And seeing as how a large part of Nintendo's business is based on the reselling of classic games (usually with notable improvements) and that one of the Wii's selling points will be its emulation of such games, it's no wonder they would take an aggressive stance against ROM piracy.

I'm sure they've shut down at least a few projects as well, but they're certainly not alone in wanting to protect their property. Ever try making a modification using anything copyrighted by Disney? Good luck.

Hey, ppl, I am not a stupid person, and don't treat me that way.

I have done a lot of research of this for over the years, and I am not about to post every darn thing I have read, seen, or experienced myself, as I can't look from one end of the internet to the other to track down the places where I found such information. I could find a list of some things, but I am not going to yet.

and Geez, hotwax, why do you be SOOOOOOO technical all the time, it kind of gets annoying after a while. It's like *We get the point now*. And your ability to cope with some misinformation is so low. It is a fact of life, not everyone is going to be absolutely correct, not everyone is going to be 100% absofrigginlutely technical. Crap Happend, Misinformation happen, People make mistakes. Geez half of the time people get confused by that stuff.

Anyways enough of this crap, let's get back on the topic of this mod.

So, how is eveything going with the mod? any levels being worked on or anything?

Not being able to spell means nothing where intelligence is concerned, especially on the internet ;)

But having no way to judge a person by their physical appearance or by visual cues, opinions of character over the Internet are often formed by how well a person communicates; if it's important to you that others take you seriously and hold you in high regard, it's a good idea to take the time to ensure that your spelling and grammar are correct. (Not to mention knowledge of the subject matter)

Actually, the thing that bugs me more about atrocious spellings and horribly managled grammer is that I find it almost painful just to read it. I agree with everything, though. It leaves me the impression that the other person doesn't care, which is a cue to me that I shouldn't care either.

right now im working on idea's for creatures, not much in the level area because ive been working 10 to 13 hour shifts daily at work recently...

but the creature idea im working on now is a swarmer for the telenia jungle. its called the Kre'Vahn and it resembles an ant, they are big, fast and only have a melee attack, but 1 HP so they are easily killed

based loosely on the scarab's in Metroid Prime

this mod if sucessfully done will take quite a long time to make because im the only one working on it so far, but if someone can help id apreciate it
sprites for the Kre'Vahn will hopefully look like a dog sixed ant without the antenna. and really big jaws

heh, sounds cool. My favorite Metroid games were Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. The scarabs are sort of an interesting type of enemy, dangerous in swarms, and harmless individually.

@TheDarkArchon - That was not a spelling mistake, ppl is shorthand for people, so :P. And somthing like that doesn't say if someone is stupid or not. Geez, some really intelligent person could just be typing REALLY fast or something, and accidentially hit a wrong key, and make a mistake, easy as that. Everyone makes mistakes.

Also, I know I am not stupid, because I am a decent level designer, and I am working on a MAJOR project, ConsoleDoom 64. ConsoleDoom 64 has a lots of ACS functions, Decorate, dehacked, Mapinfo, and such. It has high-res weapons, using HIRESTEX. It also has some good weather effects, using decorate and ACS. I also have been adding new monsters with Decorate, and I have been working very hard on many other features.

One thing you'll do is look obsessed if you bother to counter every miniscule point in detail. I know some arguers who throw out red herrings on purpose just to frustrate someone arguing the point.
