Yes great idea, bring more negative attention on the DOOM community and the gaming community in general. Yes we really need more controversy

gameplay wise that's a terrible idea

think about it:
invincible = no challenge
melee only = run after things that run away

hatred already demonstrated that a game that's built on controversy results in a very poor gameplay experience

Well the idea it was about your the Killer of an horror movie and the enemies are the victims but if you guys says is stupid then is fine for me

I feel like this needs to change in a fun way, by way of a contest. How would people feel about a contest, where authors make a new gameplay mod using no more than 64 KB worth of (compressed) resources? Sort of like Cutmanmike's old Mutator Contest, except the limit isn't "no new resources," it's "use your space wisely." Bonus points for impressive coding techniques or making large-scale use of small-scale resources and graphics.

Well, if Filesize is now a significant criteria, I can already close down my thread. My project, right now, has 458 MB. If I removed all the unused stuff (which I will), and then add what's still missing, it's most likely not gonna have less then 500MB.

Nobody is saying your mod can't be big. Just make sure all that space is actually being used.

I would totally be on board with a contest of that nature. It would be pretty cool to see what came from that.

Actually i had the same idea of having a mod made where you can choose between some classes where indeed one of them is invulnerable and can do massive damage..
It can even destroy walls and go through them while other classes cannot.
There is however some obstacle the inculnerable character cannot cross and other classes CAN.
So by yelling 'there is no chellenge being invulnerable' is not entirely true.
That's just a matter of HOW you fill things in.
But before i even start THAT project we might even be in 2018 or something...

Going Godmode, and then bumping into unpassable barriers. That somehow doesn't scream "fun" for me... :L

Thats why it is not the way you expect it to be.
So it can't be boring.

It only get boring to someone if this someone doesnt want to do some think work, then sure it is boring to this someone, but thats not me to blame nor the gameplay.

I suppose mod ideas are not welcomed in 64 KB Contest, so I am posting here instead idea for tiny mod:
Give former human enemies limited ammount of ammo, which they use up in attacks and they can go dry, upon which they will rely only on melee or flee (to prevent players from abusing in-fighting to make them lose ammo, set them immune to infights - in lore explanation could be that, their origin being former military personel makes them more disciplined?). And remaing ammo would be reflected in ammount of drop after death.
Not sure how feasible, but IMO it would be very cool and original concept worth expanding over.

It would be nice if Quake 1 had more blood effects... the amount of blood in that game is severely lacking (even compared to Original DOOM standards)
