Anyway i'm thinking would be nice if his time-freezing effect has some kind of magical sound effect. To notice you that the world is frozen for a moment.

Unfortunately to my knowledge its not possible to have sound effects when time freeze is Active in Zdoom. Otherwise I would!
Re: Memoirs of Magic
Looks TOO weak. At the same time his time freeze ability looks OP. would it not be better to stun certain enemies within a certain range? One thing I did notice was that his thumb was wrapped round the wrong way.

Re: Memoirs of Magic
The Time Freeze Ability is better against some enemies then others, and more difficult to control when they are more enemies around. The Golems are predictable in their patterns, making it easier to activate the ability. And in regards to the sword being weak, they is ways to modify that in game to make it quite powerful, such as spells and stat increases, so I wouldn't worry about it being too weak!Raziel236 wrote:Looks TOO weak. Also, I think I can see what you mean by the hand; the idea behind it is the fist is suppose to be turned in a way where the fingers are supose to face the player, but I can see what you mean about the thumb!

The fact that it's possible to kill a skeleton in 32 swipes or whatever it is at all makes it seem like it's UP. And having only a sword as a weapon seems boring.

Re: Memoirs of Magic
They seems to be a common misconception when it comes to Class weapons. The Thief has an Exclusive Sword Melee weapon, But its not the only weapon he can use.. When starting a new game for example, the Thief begins with the LVL1 Sword, LVL1 Auto-Arrow, and LVL1 Earth Tome. This does not mean these are the only weapons he can use; he can get his hands on the Minigun, Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, Fire Magic Book and so and so. This is the same for all classes; the only thing special about the classes is their Passive Abilities, Starting Perks and Class Exclusive Weapons (Mace, Axe, Sword, Lance, Pistol and Sorcery).Raziel236 wrote:The fact that it's possible to kill a skeleton in 32 swipes or whatever it is at all makes it seem like it's UP. I just want to iterate to everyone who sees this thread; Only the Class Exclusive Weapons are... well, exclusive. Any class can use all the Magic Tomes + All the Alchemy Gun Weapons.
Edit: Also, I should also point out, Dummy skeletons that are used in the analysis videos have 250 health. The Actual Skeletons in game, the Starting enemies, have 50. It does not take a LVL1 Sword to take out a normal skeleton in game, and it ESPECIALLY does not take that many hits with a LVL3 sword.
Re: Memoirs of Magic
Fair! : ) The only thing that made it confusing was that the class videos on youtube had multiple weapons and the last one did not.

I am actually quite happy you brought it up though, and I understand the confusion; I been meaning the address it for awhile now!Raziel236 wrote:Fair! : ) The only thing that made it confusing was that the class videos on youtube had multiple weapons and the last one did not.

Re: Memoirs of Magic
Hello again everyone; I came here to ask a question in regards to a feature I have found in GZDoom. The feature depicted was something I wanted to save as a surprised, but the main issue is it does not seem to appear in the latest versions of GZDoom, namely 2.4. You can see the version I am using in the image featured, which was a build released on December of 2016 (It should also be noted that it is very difficult to also find a download link to said version!).
I am curious if they if a way to enable this feature in later Versions of GZDoom?.. As of now, this feature works right out of the box with the current build I am using which is featured in the snapshot, where as it does not with newer versions. I am not sure if they is an option that you have to enable to get it to work or not.
How I achieved this effect was combining the A_FaceMovementDirection of the Actor with the USEACTORPITCH of the ModelDef. If anyone knows the answer to this question OR knows anyone who MAY know the answer to this question, please direct some answers to me; I would love to use newer versions of GZDoom if possible, but if not, I will have to stick with this one!

Re: Memoirs of Magic
If you believe this is a bug, make a minimal, runnable example (screenshots are useless to the devs) and describe what worked in 2.3 VS what isn't working in 2.4; expectation VS reality. Post it on the bug board, as this is the only way things will be looked at, and If it was indeed a bug, the only way it will be fixed: https://mantis.zdoom.org/my_view_page.php
If you are uncomfortable with posting the runnable example publically, you can send the file link privately via PM (to Graf Zahl) but you still have to post the ticket on the bug board for it to be investigated.
Remember, minimal runnable examples and a good description on how to trigger the bug will increase the chances of it being fixed.

Will do; I will whip up something real quick to post on there!Nash wrote:If you believe this is a bug, make a minimal, runnable example (screenshots are useless to the devs) and describe what worked in 2.3 VS what isn't working in 2.4; expectation VS reality. Re: Memoirs of Magic
Hello Again, and Welcome to Week 10 of the Analysis Series!
Today we will be Covering the Gunslinger Class, his stats, gear AND passive abilities!
Also, Special thanks to Terminus, Nash, Weasyl and Graf Zahl for helping me out this week with a large variety of issues!
I usually dont encounter many problems during my project work, but this week has been pretty busy. I been trying to iron out every little kink so that that I can start moving onto the next phase of this project. If it wasn't for those guys, and the amazing team behind the GZDoom development (and bug fixing!) I wouldn't of been able to progress like I did, so a special shoutout to those guys!

Glad you nailed it, alright! Also are those bullets ricochets directly to the enemies? Because that's what i'm seeing it. If so, very clever!

Pretty Much; The bullets try and find any target in the vicinity, and bounce right to them!Captain J wrote:Glad you nailed it, alright! Also are those bullets ricochets directly to the enemies? Because that's what i'm seeing it. If so, very clever!

Re: Memoirs of Magic
I wonder if those tracking bullets can't find a valid target(get blocked or too far away) can be shoot to/ricochet to then what'll happens?
