Actually not, still using the latest DoomBuilder that still crashes a lot of times... but I am more familiar with that and I still hope that CodeImp will soon continue to improvie that piece!
You know I was joking, right...? :p

Doombuilder definitely sucks with the crashing. But I'm starting to hate it more when it b0rks up my textures/flats with nonsensical characters when I save, so that I have to go hunt it down...

I'm still yet to experience all of this. The only problem I've ever seen frequently occur with DB is that it can't handle rotating a copy/paste section and sticking it down in the map, connected to something. It either doesn't merge the vertices, or it assigns the sectors incorrectly, meaning somewhere near as much manual work as remaking it demands. O_o

Oh, and ontopic:

Very nice, as I said in the thread over at DRDTeam, the texture packs potential is really shining through here. I'm also quite surprised to see quite so short a development time. Your speed-mapping techniques are really quite impressive.

Indeed. In fact, you should make a guide to mapping fast, Torm. It'd certainly help me a crapload.

Phobus, don't worry. I guarantee you, it'll happen. Sooner or later... :p

EDIT:
Holy crap! Did I say SLADE? I meant SLIGE, heh.

S'pose that would've made more sense, although admittedly Slade is more stable than Doombuilder anway.

The 2nd set of screenshots look really nice, good work.
I'm happy you've lost the Quake look for this one

And's it arguable which is more stable SLADE or Doom Builder, on my system Doom Builder seems to be the most stable, but I know it's nothing like that on other systems. Either way, I'd like to see development on both.

Progress continues very fast, about 80% of the map is done (gameplay & thing placement all inclusive)... awesome... I never mapped that fast and still with such an high quality. Even "The City Of The Damned" took me longer... DoomBuilder is still the best thing concerning mapping in my eyes :)

So...when do you estimate you'll have this done? It's at 80% and it took you 2 days to get 10% so...... 2 days + 10% = Zomg on Sunday

Yeah, about that time :) I think, map will be done on Sunday and Betatesting ends a few days later, so it will be released in about 1 and a half week :)

Whoa... that is big and from the look of your screenshots, this is going to be really good in detail! Keep up the good work! Obviously, one of the best maps that I'm going to enjoy!

I think it could be that you had an idea that came instantly in your mind which makes you map much faster (knew what to do), the textures, or you become more "speedy" in a sense, after each perfectly detailed map that you've released. :P

They are both about the same on my system in terms of stability :P They both crash once every so often (I really should be running SLADE in debug mode when I use it :s). I don't have huge problems with DB 1.67 like everyone else seems to have.

I find very recently (and by "very recently" I mean like, the past week) that DoomBuilder crashes pretty much during every other save. And when it crashes during a save, the map gets eaten, and I have to save the most recent backup into the wad file again. I haven't had any problems with SLADE, though admittedly I haven't actually switched over to it or anything because I'm so accustomed to right clicking the wad and clicking "Edit with DoomBuilder." Perhaps I should give SLADE a try more often...
