I got the jumpdrive for free (promotional thing). :p

And the MP3 player works just like a jumpdrive anyway (no drivers) so I don't need a big jumpdrive.

I do tend to use the jumpdrive if other people have to handle it as it is less "scary" to non computer people and the fact that if they dropped my MP3 player, i'd be very, very sad. (although it's quite resilliant)

Nope, it's a really weird cable. Since the company that makes it discontinued the model, I can't get a replacement. I'm waiting for the next computer show to get the parts to make one myself.

It will turn up eventually, don't worry.

heh, I used my MP3 player as file storage. And then it died. But at least I had backed up everything first. Sucks that I don't have a means of playing music, though, anymore... Bah.

Oh... And I may decide to submit something for this... heh heh...

Funny, my scary wad is inside a ship, Bio. At least there's a lot of differences in gameplay, since my map relies on ambiance and doesn't feature an undefeatable enemy.

Urg. Since I suck at Doom editing on anything other than my favorite computer, I won't be submitting a wad. However, I would like to showcase a sound sequence which I'm very proud of, just to give an idea of what would have been happening just outside the player's vision.

I got all the sounds from preview samples at SoundDogs.com. Awesome site, with literally thousands of sounds and effects, not to mention ambient music of whatever kind you could want.

I mean.... that totally shocked me. Moreso than the video of the guy who "played" a real life zombie game.

Tell you what Caligari, you've just saved me a lot of hard work with that site. Sounds for Nautilus and projectile, found :D

@DoomRater: Well, I'm glad the intent carried across. :) Amazing what sound alone can do, eh? ;)

@Phobus: Glad to be of assistence!

Indeed. Music and sounds carried the weight of the 8-bit world when graphics alone were not enough. And their part in Ocarina of Time and Link's Awakening should be even more proof that music and sounds (even without speech!) can still carry on in a virtual world, and are just as vital as they were back in the day.

Good news: I was cleaning and I found my MP3 player cable! :D
Bad news: That wad wasn't on it. :(

Hmm. This sucks, where did I put it? I know I have a copy somewhere... :?

I'm giving some hint, try experimenting with ultralow- and ultrahigh frequencies.
