I'm not sure what the final roster will look like, but I am using enemies from both heretic and hexen as well as some derivatives (powered down mages and clerics for instance, powered up ettin commanders that also throw flechettes, etc). I may make some enemies from scratch or not, depends on how they come out. I plan to make the bosses unique.
Any ideas where I could find some nice boat/sea sounds (creeking wood, waves, etc)?

This looks nice. And a little bit of technology wouldn't hurt, Hexen II had some designs like that near the end of the game. As long as it doesn't look like it came out of a tech base.

Looks like I'll be dusting off my Heretic wad for this one. Keep it up.

E1M1 = to the power of 10
It looks epic, way better than anything I was making for Heretic.
Spoiler:
All of them were never finished

Hey there,
I just noticed your WIP-Project for GZDoom/Heretic and I wanted to ask you if there is a chance to also get you on our community project "HPack". We are currently developing the maps based on a huge amount of textures and resources that we gathered and worked on but we are still looking for some more mappers to help us - and you obviously might be a great support.
Been a bit busy with the new quarter, but e1m1 should be in a state where its testable soon. A few new screenshots.
Spoiler:
(3D sector chairs)
(couldn't resist putting guns on a boat, even if they don't do anything)
@Tormentor667: I've actually lurked over there for a while, but I've never registered/posted. Depending on time, I might try to work on a map.

I haven't posted on this for a while since the wad has been changing towards a more rpg style of gameplay. I have shops, experience (which you buy feats such as max hp increases, increased damage, better magic, secondary attacks, etc), a decorate based (although a bit hackish) system of giving items "weight" and having the player only able to carry a certain amount of weight total for all items (instead of the max items found normally). Further, the player starts off a lot weaker than in vanilla heretic/hexen but will be able to grow far stronger as the game progresses. I have a large city map as the central hub of the game, and missions and quests to fight various enemies are an important part of the design. Unfortunately, it will still be a while before I post the first demo.

Don't die on us, man! We've been waiting for a spiritual sequel to H-Quest for a while!

The biggest problem is I made some really stupid design decisions early on in a number of areas (and mapping multistory buildings you can actually move around in is a nightmare), and fixing them as well as scripting around the various quirks of both acs and decorate is taking forever. I really wish better scriptting options existed for some of the more complex parts of this project. On a side note, this wad has a lot of strife peasant variants (thieves of various types, guards, ghosts, etc.) and with starting health at 42, It seems really weird to have undead knights feel as powerful as barons.

I really like the first of those screenshots, it gives me a sort of Quake vibe, it looks very nice.

The staff shoots a spray of fire, sort of like a fiery super shotgun. To be honest, I am having a hell of a time balancing this weapon, but at least it can two shot kill a chaos serpent.
