Finally installed the extended visual mode plugin. Haven't had much time to play with it yet but here's what I immediately noticed on a map I'm working on which has some 3-d floors and textures are loaded from a separate directory on the hard disk.
1) Sector textures in the classic mode look messed up (they appear as huge blocks)
2) My simple 3-d floor work is rendering in the visual mode. Awesome! However the side textures of the 3-d floors look weird (they appear super stretched)
It's amazing how you can visually see your 3-d floors changing as you adjust the control sectors. Does it work for sloped 3-d floors?
Haven't tried the slopes yet. Will try it as soon as I get some free time. I don't even have time to rebind my control scheme right now...
Classic mode is bugged, I am trying to determine why.
Sloped 3d Floors will be implemented when I add in complex sector based slopes. (Instead of my subsector hack)
Side textures on 3d geometry was a little bit of a hack job on my part. I will clean it up when I get time.
Side textures on 3d geometry may flicker or disappear as well, this due to them being aligned to the control sector, so if you can't see the control sector, no sides. This will also be fixed.
