project went boom

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

They were basically "poor man's" doom 2 (very hard to pull off). I can remember the start room of map01 was the same but lacked height variation, and "The Gantlet" start room was the same but just was retextured to marble. This user is a very strange person.

That reminds me of my The Gantlet remake, I never released this though I just made it for the fun of it.I can almost create every doom map from memory.

Yeah it looks good but its nothing that anyone would want to play, playing the original gives the same amount or even more pleasure. This map will probably rot away on my hd :p or gets deleted sooner or later, its good training though.Doing these remakes projects every now and then sometimes helps me with my more serious projects.

Lately I've been playing some old maps of mine and it was nice to see how much I improved since the time I made the maps, I guess most people improve their mappings skills with each map they make.

Making something from scratch, but as a close copy of something else, can still be considered illegal. However, for one map that isn't even released, there's really no reason to argue.

As long as it was made to run with DOOM2.WAD, the iwad that the original map came from (rather than one of the other iwads or another game entirely), I think it's legal to release. (See: KDiZD)
