I've been enjoying this mod quite a bit - especially when it's mixed with other weapon and monster mods. The latest set I've used when screwing around was Determination + Colorful Hell.

Best combination, Convincing Shotgun + The Real Knife. Just like real betrayal kills
Spoiler:
The only problem is the HUD being incompatible with alternate ammo counts. Would there be a way to fix that?

Well the reason why is that Legendoom Was not supposed to actualy be working with other Weapon mods (that just me maybe Yholl meant that maybe not)
it was more meant to work with monster mods only

Well, it's just that any mod that doesn't change ammo types and keeps the standard Clip/Shells/Rockets/Cells just about works perfectly.

With the exception of when they replace items, so Legendary effects like Hoarder, Survivor, or Spiritual don't work either.

You shouldn't be playing LegenDoom with mods that have their own weapons... in fact, you shouldn't play any weapons mod with another weapons mod. Thats a basic of modding.

Also, don't kill the monster you befriended with the Convincing Shotgun, as they help you to kill other monsters.

Or...you know, kill them, since you get some nice loot.

Only kill them when you have finished cleaning all the monsters on the level.

such betray-o-matics in this thread wow
Viscra Maelstrom wrote:anywho, Epic-tier BFGs seems to fire quite a bit slower than the other BFGs; of the top of my head, the Impossible BFG is noticably slower from anything else in the game, and i think the Uncommon ones might be the same, i could be remembering wrong though.
I'll take a looksee at em, it's quite possible I arsed something up.

Oooh, that's a very cool idea, will do.

I've started poking at DRLA again (heresy, I know) and hopefully might start to work towards that long awaited mythical patch.
I'll do some last stuff on LegenDoom and then release a 1.4 so I can concentrate on DRLA more again.

oh, i just noticed why the Hunting Plasma Rifle is so good: it never needs to cool down! thus, it has no obvious drawbacks aside from the lowered firerate, which honeslty isn't a big deal.

edit: no dryfire sound for common legendary plasma rifles (spiritual one over here?)

So... i just had an idea, please don't crucify me if it was already suggested or sounds too idiot.

What if you substitute the "common" tier with polished, reworked FreeDoom weapons?

I recognize there are some excellent works in those sprites (some Blox edits as well), but not because they aren't good. But all those tiers come from an linear game theme, excepet the common. I could work on the sprites if that's the case. But bringing it up would make it more linear.

Anyway, i just thought i should say it.

It's not so much a game theme, as it is just a theme.
Vanilla weapons - Metallicy chromey weapons - DE1 weapons - DE2 weapons - D64 weapons

I mean, technically out of the new ones, only the Epic ones are from a game, the others are all from mods.

i kind of like the theme. the common tier are just reworked versions of Doom weapons, with no direct source-material like the other tiers, which befits its common spawn-rate and makes it feel that they're slightly polished new guns.
the uncommon and rare weapons are from Demon Eclipse, because they are relatively well-known sprites at this point, and they usually are used in sets elsewhere also. they look like prettier Doom weapons and the bulky old guns gives off a "heavy" vibe, while the new ones gives off a "slick and deadly" vibe, which fits with the respective effects they have.
and the D64 weapons are the highest tier, because they look very alien and like something from another world, something that contains powers you could only barely comprehend. which is especially fitting, since all of their effects are powerful, doesn't come with any side-effects, and are ready to go right away.

i kind of want to make a list of all the effects in this mod and tell my personal opinion on the usage of them on all of the weapons, but maybe that'd spoil it for people to try and discover the weapons themselves?

Got your point guys.

About your question Viscra, well, spoiler it; players who don't want to see are warned about it at least.

I'd be interested in reading your thoughts on them. Stick it in a spoiler or something, that's all.
