I said MANA Item placement.

By the way, there are already mana items in Barren, and they MIGHT appear online in 201, if the applicable servers would upgrade/not be shut down. XD

That is pretty.. gay.
Unless the person that payed them specifically asked for no zdwars and to replace it with a random wad. Then it might make sense. (Although I don't think anyone really has a grudge against zdwars. Just some people that don't care for it.)

Yeah, I admit, the mana placement in Barren is a bit gimmicky, and I might have overdone it a little bit. But I meant for Barren to be a crazy map, due to the entire level being one room. Add mana to that, and that's a fairly random/chaotic match.

i wish i had the nerve to make my castle /castle(s) map XD my thought process is so epic, but my ability to sit down and create a castle map is... iffy XD

but i dont see a point since no one is capabable of hosting it without crashing (and powerstar is netherlands, but his server can hold 4-5 people XD and its A PERSONAL server) without fuking up. but he cant be on 24/7. only server up (even tho its outdated) is node-3's PRIVATE server of ver 2.00.

Please don't let this project die. it is sad that it is not in the first page of the projects.

People still care about this. It doesn't matter if there isn't an official server anymore - fuck that. People will host new dedicated servers if the wad gets updated and becomes more stable.

Please, don't let this die. I sent a map to mik some time ago, he should have finished it.

Well, I haven't heard anything from those who were interested in making maps, or any input from players on the latest version, so what am I supposed to do?

Besides, I'm going to college, and don't exactly have all day to work on this.

Well, you should just work on it when you have some spare time, that's all. I hope Mik57 will release his map and Omegamax also has to finish one.

Oh by the way, for those who are interested, I found a nice duke 3d faction around: http://www.speedyshare.com/554839883.html :)

I don't have anything to work on without feedback, nor the inspiration to do anything with it.

Also, no. XD

But I think I might get a dedicated server hosted for ZDoom Wars to replace the old CLUB one.

Coolio. I probably won't be on much, if at all, but I'd be glad to hear balance/feature feedback. It's been awhile since I worked on it, and now that I think about it, I need something to do on my off-days, so go ahead and make requests, haha. I do love this project, and really doing something special to improve it would be great.

Of course, I am always interested in hearing about stability issues/improvements.

I love this project as much as you do so I'll do my best to make this popular again. Today, I hosted a server and I played with a friend of mine. I've got one of the worst connections ever and... it DIDN'T CRASH! it did lag a little but it was acceptable. I am going to get this dedicated server hosted in probably less than one week. If in one week the server is not yet hosted, then it means I'll have to wait for the next skulltag version (which will be released in the middle of October - No more OMGIHAVE97D5ANDIHAVETODOWNLOADTHELATESTBUILD crap.)

Thanks a bunch for hosting. Any and all help regarding stability problems is welcome.

I may do a rehaul of the Art of ZDoom Wars and the manuals at some point, too, maybe with some charts and such, haha. The documentation as is, is not too self-explanatory. People misunderstand exactly how some things are going to work on the battlefield, and unless people are playing right, it's hard to balance things properly.

Playability seems to be okay, I may come up with some better ideas on how to make it playable, some fresh ways to implement things so ZDoom Wars is more accessible. I won't promise any quick work, but I'll probably get to it eventually.

Stability has always been a big problem, and continues to be a thorn in my side. My lack of knowledge of ST's netcode means that I will gladly accept any and all aid in searching for problems and refining things so they put less stress on a server.

The other big problem is Balance. This is incredibly important, since an unbalanced ZDWars just isn't fun. This is a constant development.

You can consider this project alive, so long as people give feedback.

Say hello to your dedicated server! :)

BTW: for now we are also running the unofficial factions, but they will be taken out later.

So yeah, there will probably be two servers: one for the official factions WITHOUT unofficial factions, and another with a few unofficial factions. Just so everyone is happy.
