Making some Heretic Voxels. The translucency on the Crystal Vials and Key Gizmos is acheived through a second, translucent actor spawned at the same time & place. Not too sure on the Key Gizmos, it was more of an experiment to see if it would look good or not.

i think the spheres would look better without the keys in them, or maybe if the spheres were colored. good to see some more voxels for Heretic though :)

I think colouring the orbs their respective key colour works much better.

Imgur has always done that. Have you tried using the .png extension instead? If not - it probably just forces that for bandwidth reasons. (jpg's are smaller >_<)

Really early map progress, no textures. I will eventually replace all the default textures with hand-drawn dithery stuff to match the existing art style, hopefully at 2x scale compared to Doom native resolution.

Those voxels looks good, except that crystal vial, though. Inside is way out of detail!

I'm probably in a very small percentage of people that likes dim, sparsely-lit maps.

My biggest gripe with dark maps is not being able to see where I'm going. Dim things down and make me fight in the dark, I don't mind that if it's used properly. But make sure I can see some glowing texture or thingy to get my bearings and keep moving forward.

On another note, contrast the hell out of dark maps. Darkness is much more effective when it's interspersed with light. You turn a corner to look down a pitch-black hallway, and silhouetted against the bright exit at the far end is the hulking outline of a Baron...
