Well that's was just me being stupid and releasing a broken mod. God, now i'm feeling ashamed. Turns out that, for some reason, i deleted the TEXTURES.FLATS file from the released build - and what is even weirder, is that the file is still present inside the devbuild.
Anyway, you can grab a hotfixed version here.

I noticed that the chainsaw has no frames when attacking, the weapon disappears but you still do damage. Hmm. Did you tried the "-" and "=" keys? I have no problems on my end, but i'm using g4.14.12. Maybe it is something in that specific GZDoom build?
Keep in mind that since i first released the mod, i never touched the HUD again. So it should be working, since it always worked before and is still working on later builds.

I really wish i could help you, but it must be something on your end that is causing this misbehavior. As you can see, ADP's hud is working fine in an out of the box, freshly unpacked GZDoom 4.12.2 build here on my end.
