Here's the relevant topicPsycho Siggi wrote:Unless I'm mistaken, there is someone who has started work on a fmodex port of ZDoom.

FMOD (Ex) is hands down the best sound API avaliable. SDL Mixer, OpenAL, ect just don't have the ease of use and features of FMOD. FMOD 3 lacks Linux 64 bit support, but it has been added to FMOD Ex.QBasicer wrote:Why are we still using FMod anyways? Does it work on 64bit Linux without a hitch? It seems FMod is a bit deprecated isn't it?
Not much has changed since my last patch except some untested 3D sound code, plus Mac and Linux fixes. I'll do another update when I have a home net connection again and can rectify some issues with the Mac version of FMOD Ex. I will actually need some feedback from Linux users/developers at some stage too, instead of pointless whining about the state of FMOD 3.Psycho Siggi wrote:Unless I'm mistaken, there is someone who has started work on a fmodex port of ZDoom.
