The KDiZD super shotgun is slower than the Doom 2 one, and I wonder why. It does make the game more challenging and the gun more balanced in respect with the shotgun. And more importantly: you cannot stunlock Hell Warriors with it. If you used the Doom 2 SSG, the gun would have refired immediately after they lowered their shields, sending them again into shield-state. I think you should a new Super Shotgun that has the same speed as the original SSG since I never liked the first one.

The KDiZD SSG more reminds of a sawed-off shotgun than the normal Doom 2 version. That's not a bad thing, on the contrary, I think it's pretty damn neat.

How about keep the reloading slow, but make it possible to just shoot one barrel so you can shoot two little guys in a pinch?

Yes, I like having single-barrel modes.
