He does have a point though. Unless you do considerable editing cacos look weird with arms and legs. Arms can be done if done right (like on the Pain Elemental or many of Eriance's sprites), however.

I could make a monster sprite using Massmouth as a base, giving it Groucho Marx moustaches, replacing its gun with a flowerpot, and adding an angelic halo above its eyestalk. Then associate that with decorate code that makes it a uber boss monster, nearly invulnerable.

That wouldn't make a good monster. That would make a joke.
