I may have missed the livestream but I was still able to watch the it on a different site and I all I have to say is that the new episode was Fragging awesome, I'm not saying anything much about what happened during the episode because i may wreck it for the people who have not seen it yet.

And on another subject i have been putting this off for a long time but i finally managed to "Ponifiy = to make into a pony" the character i have as a avatar :) (Pic in encased spoiler)

Personally, I think spoilers are okay in here, so I'm gonna leave mine untagged. /r/mylittlepony lifts the spoiler-ban after 48 hours, which seems reasonable.

Per your concern, I like to think that perhaps Twilight might be letting Starlight go too easily. I mean, she effectively went toe-to-toe with a god last season, and if I recall correctly (may need to watch again) she never really considered Starlight a threat to Equestria overall, so maybe she's being too nonchalant and the overconfidence will come back to bite her later. Besides, those caves may be more "twisty little passages all alike" than we saw, and it really would be impossible to find her without a coordinated, heavy horsepower search.

I loved this opener, I think it sets a great tone for the rest of the season, and I'm looking forward to our next slice of life episode. Hope we'll see some more of these new friends, too. Night Glider seems like a good counterpart to Rainbow Dash, and Party Favor might make a good friend to Pinkie Pie, less of a "friendly competitor" party pony like Cheese Sandwich was. He also apparently has wide-bandwidth hammerspace access (dat balloon bridge!), which puts him in good company with Pinkie.

Well... for my story long short, I WAS a brony but not for a long time. For like 6 months? I stopped watching it because everyone was making fun of me... :/ I am not joking...

Also it's ok being a brony, everyone likes what they want. I don't even care. I just started liking Pokémon instead and everyone is fine with it.

These 2 shows got me the best. I watched them as a little kid, of course more particularly Pokémon (it's a older show and it's still not that "infectious" as is MLP. At least for me. I still play Pokémon cards because it's a fun game :3: and still collect plushies etc.) So I have minimum interest in MLP now.

Peace to all bronies there.

I find it interesting that Pokémon is okay, but MLP is not. Or any other fandom for that matter. Yes, I know one is "for little girls", but Transformers is ostensibly for little boys and apparently tons of adults like it too.

EDIT: In news of the fun, the /r/mylittlepony subreddit mods took away everyone's cutie mark flair over the weekend and replaced them with "=". They still haven't given them back, and the users are planning, grandstanding, and throwing buckets of water. The mods are trying to quell dissent by banning water buckets, but it's not working, and the mods who get caught are revealed to have their own cutie marks!

This is more fun than the April Fools joke where they made the sub football themed.

you just said the reason why. MLP is for little girls, while Pokemon and Transformers is for little boys. the former makes you into a mockery for enjoying it, the latter is okay due to boy stuff not being as stigmatized to enjoy. there could also be arguments about how the Transformers cartoon came from the "golden age" while MLP came out in an age where cartoons are getting worse, even though there's a great deal of cartoons nowadays that are actually really good, i'm sure people is going to use that as an argument as well. but i'd say moreso the reason is because MLP is a girls' show while the others are boy stuff, and that's why people would laugh at you for watching it.

MLP (and to be fair, many other childrens shows) have been doing stuff like this for a while, but MLP tends to do it more intelligently than most IMO. I do think the S5 opener is probably one of the objectively darkest episodes yet. It's a nice subtle dark though, which I like.

One of the reasons that I feel like season 5 may be a bigger success than usual is in the little things; the things that are just generally unexpected in relation to past behaviors. I'm sure it's been mentioned a lot so far, but I just want to drive it home. ^_^

You could just watch the show and being casual about it, like i do.
I used to be a brony, but i don't want to be associated with the fandom, i'm pretty tired of the attitude of these so called fans, (I don't want to talk about the cloppers because we all know how the discussion would end.)
there are people that think that they are cool because they watch a girls cartoon, others jump the bandwagon just because it's popular, and none realizes that the internet stopped caring in 2013, they are obsessive over it and just plain weird by not being able to think of anything else for just one second. Mlp isn't the best cartoon ever and it's not true that all the other cartoons suck, see Adventure Time or Gravity Falls for example.

Every fandom is like this, for example Doctor Who's Whovians always whine about something about the last ep, the new doctor, stuff like that, and i know that there are "normal" people in the brony fandom, but they end up being represented by the fanatics

The best thing to do, and it goes for every fandom, is not to tag yourself. Why should you tag yourself as a brony? You are more than that, you have a personality, liking mlp is just a part of what you like, be yourself, not a brony :)

I did not mean to offend anyone and i want to respect everyone's opinions, these are just my 2 cents

No, you're absolutely right though. Here's the thing - Exactly where are the boundaries between being in the fandom and not, when you still enjoy watching the show? Really! It's a strong question to ask.

I have in my main music folder a minimum of 80 MLP-related songs, and my PC's desktop is a shuffling selection of files from a folder with (wow) 493 items in it; 480 of which are MLP related. I have about six pieces of MLP:FiM merchandise, only two of which are plushies; both of which my sister and her friend got for me. I have read seven fanfics, (Two of which are over 400,000 words.) and at least twenty stories listened to on Youtube.

I don't watch the show because I think it's quite literally the very best show ever, or the best thing to happen to humanity since sliced bread. I watch it because I see something that connects a lot of things in my life and has made some important things whole again. I see a depth to it that a chunk of its viewers apparently don't.

But would I call myself a Brony? Hell if I know. I just don't actually do it. I do not actually bother to call myself a Brony at any particular point in time. What sort of numbers would you have to tweak in that second-to-last paragraph above for you to call me a Brony if I don't call myself one?

There is no universally accepted standard, I think. That's fine.
